Lots of people posting that they expect Gators to blitz a lot. I just don't see that because even though they may get to Bray a couple of times, he will burn them on big plays as well. That is the one thing Florida can't do is give up easy scores. I expect them to stay in zone and make Tennessee throw underneath and tackle them for short gains. Zone also allows better run support. If the Gators blitz they'll have to be in a lot of man coverage which the Vols will beat with Hunter and Patterson. Also, when in man their DB's will have their backs to the line of scrimmage and won't be able to come up in run support as easily as from zone coverage. I look for Gators to grab, hold, bump and otherwise try to disrupt our receiver’s routes and to try and keep everything underneath them. There will be "chicken" fights on every play. Our WR's have to keep their cool and use their strength and athleticism to get off the ball. A lot could depend on how the officials call the game. Will they let a hand full of Paterson's jersey or a bump 10 yards down field go or will they call it close and clean? Look for Florida to turn it into a wrestling match if they can. GBO:rock:

Last year Florida used the tactic to just tackle the receivers before they got the ball. This gave them 10+ pass interference calls but kept big plays from happening, I expect another cheap dirty game from them.

Yeah and there were 10 more "No Calls" that could easily have been. Let's just hope the officals let Muschamp know that if they have to flag every play they will.

I definitely expect UF to dial up the old "bear hug the receiver before he has a chance to burn you" defense.

Fl has got to get to the QB. We all do a lot of talking about the QB and WR's. I think we win or lose this game depending on the play of the O-line and D-line.

Our O-line has been good in the pass rush for a couple of years. They have to continue being good. Fl knows we're going to pass, O-line has to keep them away from Bray.

Our D-line needs to do what a 3-4 D-line is supposed to do. Take up space in the middle and make Fl use up their O-line blocking. 3-4 D-line is not meant to be a pretty D, it's meant to open things up for LB's and DB's to get through to the QB.

Seriously though, be creative with the blitz packages. Bring a corner in sometimes, perhaps the safety - keep the other guys in position in case the blitzing man doesn't make the play. Normally you bring pressure on the weak side so hopefully the QB doesn't notice the blitzer. This creates an opportunity for the blitzer the attempt to blindside the QB and create a turnover for the defense. Safety, corner and LB blitzes are the most effective because you only give up one man in coverage and keep all other players in their normal positions.

I'd make sure Bray picks himself up of the grass every play. Mix up coverages and blitz from different places. A lot of our passes are predicated on timing and messing up that timing and being in the QB's head (internal clock) causes a lot of mishaps and may cause INT's. Taking risks is the only way I see them really making us work hard. Of course, it's also a way to get burnt A LOT!

They will drop as many in coverage as possible. They have to think they can handle any rush game we might try with their DLine. If they blitz it would be zone blitzing and dropping DEs back into coverage, its worked on Bray in the past.

You can bet an extra CB or both safeties will stay over the top of Hunter and CP the entire game.

Ultimately you always win or lose based on battle up front. If Florida can pressure Bray without blitzing Florida wins the football game. If Tennessee can run the ball for 150+ yards they win. I don't see either happening so the flip side is can Vols stop Gator rushing attack and get off the field. Florida will be trying to run the ball shorten the game and limit Vols possessions. Can they effectively do that? Guess we'll all see Saturday.

I think that is what they will try. I don't think it will work though. Bray has gotten a lot better at reads. He will dump it off to a TE or back to move the chains rather than looking for the big play.

Want to throw in.....with all of the "Big" throws TB has already had this year, two of my favorite plays were when he actually threw the ball away. Showed me a maturity and understanding that he hasn't had in the past.

Remember when it was Gators with the revved up offense and the Vols trying to figure out how to keep from getting 40 hung on them? I sure like this side of the equation better:dance2:

Their DBs have done well in man-coverage. They have just had issues with tackling.

I'd also BEG us to run the ball. I'd have 6 DB's almost all the time. Make us do something we arent comfortable doing.

I'm not sure anything will be 100% effective. First they must stop the run. Then i would probably try zone blitzes. They'll have to disquise them though. If not Bray will pick them apart. So IMO giving them underneath stuff, staying deep is their only hope.
