If you were a UT recruiter...............

I made my serious point. The old timers are the ones that are Fulmer's biggest supporters, which is why Fulmer hasn't really felt much heat outside of 2005. Beating Bama is the only thing that really matters to them. Don't get me wrong, I love beating Bama every chance I can, but on the importance scale (since 1992), Fulmer needs to be graded on wins against Florida...

Again, Georgia has won the division three out of the last five years. Why are you obsessed with Florida?

This is not the Big 10; we are not Michigan or Ohio State. Using any one game in the SEC as the yardstick for evaluating a coach's job is ridiculously shortsighted.

Recent history may suggest that UGA is just as big, but we have not had as much trouble with UGA (since 1992) as Florida. A win against Florida usually puts us in a good position to win the division. If we lose to Florida early (like we normally do), it places a lot of pressure on the team to have to win out games the rest of the season. Florida being not only the biggest hurdle, but being the first conference game of the season puts the winner at an advantage and forces the loser to play the season under pressure and relegates them to scoreboard watching.
