Much respect for VMU. Wife had a kidney transplant two years ago at VMU and they are the absolute greatest. Your father will get top notch follow up care. Take care you old nega!!:hi:

Prepare yourself and the family. Just my opinion, if you have young kids, don't take them in to see that, wait a day or two. I will say a prayer for you guys!

Kind of a funny story about my Dad's procedure. I was working in an ER at the time, and had just started dating a girl who was a corporate attorney in Knoxville. So, when my shift at the ER ended, and I went to Fort Sanders to be with my family, I changed into a suit to have lunch later in the day with my GF.

Out of habit, I had my Littmann stethoscope thrown around my neck over the suit and went to my car. Walked right into Fort Sanders with it on. Found the lounge, and my Mom and sister. While Dad was in surgery, my sister suggested I buy them breakfast. When they rang it up, it was way cheaper than I expected. And all the staff members kept looking at me funny. Later, my sister pointed out I was wearing my Littmann. Everyone must have assumed me to be be a new doctor.

Did not have it on when I went to see Dad.

It was funny at the time at least. Me a doctor? I take it back. It was funny.

Prayers answered. Good to hear. Seems the procedure is getting better if he looked good.

Better news as to my Dad. He had it in 1992, the day before or the day after Johnny Majors had his at UT. His doctors estimated his life expectancy was 15 to 20 years. And both are still with us. Do the math.

So your family has a good chance of keeping him around for a long time. May you be as blessed as we.

I hope they did him better than me,i had some open heart surgery done,they left me laying buck naked when the family came to view my successful surgery :)

I do hope all is going well
