If you had it to do over again?

I am saying that there minds weren't exactly on the game....you telling me that with someone who got you to come to this university, who you have dedicated yourself to was shown the door in a not so nice fashion that you would come to play on game day? No way.....and I didn't expect to win that game after seeing the players reactions at the press conference.

If you didn't expect to beat Wyoming, you should have been falling on your knees to praise the good Lord for ridding the Volunteers of Phil Fulmer. A monkey should have been able to coach us to victory in that game. That was one of the least talented teams Tennessee has ever lost to.

I was addressing the last sentence. The other things in my post did address his points. He said Kiffin would have been #1 if he had of embraced the tradition. He didn't. I guess your reading comprehension sucks.

Dude. You're really dumb. Go read the entire chain of posts. Sit down for a few hours and really think about things. Then you can return to the thread.

heads not in the game is completely different than giving the finger to the AD (which you said first). Were their heads all there? Probably not but they had enough talent to still beat WY's brains in and didn't. Proof that Fulmer couldn't even motivate them with a Gipper speech. He should be happy for the extra money he got from the university

That's not my name. And Eric Berry wasn't lost to attrition. Thus, your comment is completely meaningless. You could not be more wrong if you were trying. Go away.

I suggest you change your avatar then.....you can keep up your hate for Fulmer for as long as you want....but it is not going to make you or the University of Tennessee any stronger. Fact is he is gone. So, we all have to move forward. I thought it was time for him to go too, but I simply cannot stand to see someone who cared so much for this university to continue to be bashed on by people such as yourself. It simply is NOT RIGHT.

When Fulmer was fired, Dooley certainly did not fit the criteria for the replacement Vol fans had in mind.

so you are saying that the players reactions at the presser was not a middle finger to the AD?

I'm not downing him any harder than the other guy is doing to Majors. Why don't you get on him? Don't answer. I don't care why.

Or they could have rallied the rest of the season to show MH he made a mistake; or perhaps they did and Fulmer’s coaching shortcomings were just too much to overcome.

Yeah, they really showed Mike Hamilton he was an idiot by losing to Wyoming. What a great way to show our athletic director that he'd made a horrible mistake and was getting rid of a special coach.

Did Peyton Manning's crew have some vendetta against Doug Dickey when they lost to Memphis?

if we had played WY a few minutes after the announcement then you would have a point. Fulmer was still getting millions for coaching the team and couldn't even beat a WY team that was so bad their coach got fired after the season.

LOL, I all I have read is people saying what Majors did at Pitt doesn't compare to what he did here. But, you never saw me bashing Majors, because I think that he built the foundation for Fulmer to do great things.

I was not talking about the whole chain of posts. I was responding to the post with the criteria and ratings. I addressed almost everything in his post. I'm sorry I'm not as smart as you:crazy: I'm not worthy:bow2:

This is what's most interesting to me. We tend to talk about the coaches the way we talk about the play calling in a game. When things are going well, we do the "wave" (while on offense, for some unknown reason). When things are going poorly, we have bitterly different opinions (historically, it's the QB's fault unless there's a dimwit for a play caller).

The sad thing is, the game lasts 60 minutes and this rebuilding process is gonna last years.

I would hope the players would get fired up and go out and prove to MH and fans, that they were wrong for doing this to coach. If I was HC I'd EXPECT them to do just that. Still this would require me to buy your theory and I don't. Either way, the team quit, and it's unacceptable.

That last sentence is just stupid.

never said they lost to WY on purpose....said there heads weren't in the game....same way UTs heads weren't in the game for Memphis....same way UMs players heads weren't in the game for App state.....same way Bammers head weren't in the game for UL Monroe

Let me simplify this for you:

I rated each coach on a point value of 1-6 points ranked inversely. The coach with the highest point total embodies the qualities of the top five Tennessee coaching criteria.

Fulmer 21 points (scored high on everything UT,recruiting;last on asst coaches and developing talent)
Majors 20 points(Tops in HC talent elsewhere,High marks in everything Tennessee;very low on Media relations and mediocre recruiter)
Dickey 20 points(high on all TN traditions, High w/ Media; middle of the road on everything else).
Kiffin 18 points(Tops in recruiting, player development, and ability to assemble top assts for his coaching staff;dead last on anything related to the traditions of TN football and former HC experience).
Dooley 14 points(lower portion of every category)
Battle 9 points(There's a reason why someone parked a moving in his front yard after yet another loss).

If Kiffin had more respect for the traditions of Tennessee football and would've promoted Tennessee as a brand rather than a springboard to the NFL, he would've won hands down.

Now, why don't you cogently attempt to rebut my statements instead of arguing ambiguous points which weren't even being considered.

That last sentence is just stupid.

No it isn't. He's trying to act as if there's no way the Vols could lose to Wyoming without some bizarre motivation to fail. The 1996 Vols were far more talented than Phil's last team and lost to a Memphis squad that would stalemate 2008 Wyoming.

Well, something we can agree upon....It is unacceptable that they didn't show up....they certainly did not give their all for UT that day.

I bet Lame Kiffin was a secret assistant coach at Memphis. THat is the only thing that could possibly explain them beating Manning.
