You have OBVIOUSLY never lived anywhere near a military base as a civilian or you probably would not be saying this. As someone who has, there are a lot of people in the armed forces who join because they have no other options or have had a lot of issues. Joining the Marines in and of itself should not earn your respect, what someone does after they join is the important thing. With that being said, a big thank you goes out to all of the men and women of the armed forces who put their lives on the line everyday to protect our freedom.
As far as Lincoln as a kicker, what a waste of promise (Freshman All-American) and will probably go down as one of our worst kickers in recent memory. No excuse for the 'Bama kick or UNC extra point.

Sort of off topic but I remember Greg Burke who was the only UT kicker I can think of who was worse than Lincoln..... During a Tennessee-Auburn game he was sucking so badly one of our own players threw a cup of Gatorade at him on the sidelines! I wish I could find the video of THAT on YT!!!

People are taking some pretty vicious personal shots at a guy for his performance on the football field. Questioning his character because he didn't hit field goals to your liking.

That is pathetic.

PATHETIC.

You want to say he sucks as a kicker, then fine. But to take pot shots at his military aspirations or label him a douche is garbage.

I've not liked how low he kicks the extra pts for all this season. I don't know why every other kicker kicks extra pts, so high they are up over the top of the uprights, but he always kicks them so low.


But here's why I really don't cut him any slack at all:

I remember him being asked by a reporter (on GoVolsXtra) about it, after lots of us grumbled on the various forums. I also remember his smart-aleck type answer....something along the lines of "well they may be ugly, but they've all gone in, so I'm not concerned about it".


That attitude cost everyone associated with the Vols.
