if you feel sorry for lincoln right now...

It's sad but the Vols always make a handful of crucial mistakes that cost them the game. It's always freakin' something--interception, fumble, penalty, missed kick. It is SO damn annoying.

I feel sorry for the rest of our team having to deal with this low, line-drive $hit that he's been "working on" for four years now. Not only did he leave it able to be tied last night, he cost us the Bama game last season too. Good riddance.

Feel sorry that Tenn. has fans that post useless comments.

welcome to the world of being a mediocre/average/ middle of the road team. You tend to lose games (often) in ways like that

I feel sorry for the football being used by him in a way that was never intended

It's New Year's Eve, so I've got to give you credit. Every now and then I admit to laughing at your posts.

Drink a little less kool-aid and you've got a future here, kid! :hi:

Thing that pisses me off about Lincoln is this - every time a player makes a mistake I try to remember the last good play he made. I can't remember one big kick Lincoln made to win a game. That sucks. If someone can please let me know.

Dude, get real...then pick up a copy of Supertraining.

Let me elaborate- I believe he got out of balance muscularly; in that he developed some way more than others. Lack of balance in that regard does, in fact, lead directly to pulls and strains (been there and done it- my hammies still give me problems due to this).

Kickers are kind of like baseball pitchers. This is why pitchers typically aren't as bulky (at least their upper bodies) and as muscle-bound as a lot of positions players.

Well said on both your post...This has nothing to do with "class" its stating the facts. Glad he is going to the marines but that has not a damn thing to do with football...And if simply stating facts is classless then hell i guess every football fan in the country has no class.. So I guess im glad to have no class lol Damn dude lighten up...Are you happy that he cost us two games..Lincoln sux and everybody knows it and im glad he will be gone..i dont wish death on him or anything but i would like to break his legs lol j/k....HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYBODY BE SAFE!!!!

I know what you are trying to say but the underlying basis of your argument is flawed. I can't comment on your flexibility and physiology issues unless I would have the time to go through an extensive set of tests in a weight room.

The reason most "throwers" of balls are less muscular has more to do with their training regimens and genetic composition has it does with hypertrophy interfering with their performance.

What I can tell you is that I trained legions of pitchers, many of them quite muscular, all had enhanced sports performances and well defined musculature.

I really don't hate him personally, I'm just sick of him blowing big games for us. After I found out what kind of person he really is I don't feel sorry for him anymore like I did. Thats my whole point, I just wanted to let all of yall know what I've heard about him, but I do now respect him for going into the military and wish him the best of luck:salute:....GBO

I got your back on being told by former players that he is a douche....And its smart not to say any names!

I'm just sorry he couldn't get the ball more than 3 feet off the ground. Seriously, if he is still having problems due to a hamstring, he should have told the staff that instead of running back out there only to shank the ball and cost us yet another game.

Very well stated.
I never kicked; I was a catcher. 95% of my lower body strains/pulls came from a combination of the big muscles not being balanced (my quads were at one time a lot bigger than my hammies) and being tight (trainers told me that was from the size as I stretched constantly). Hearing quotes from Dooley and others (as well as seeing pictures and the games) mentioning how big and muscular DL is for a kicker led me to believe his constant strains and pulls were probably from the same cause as the ones I had experienced....but I guess I'm not as smart as I would like to think, haha. :loco:

I could never figure out why he never got any elevation on his kicks. It looks like every kick should be blocked.

DON'T!! i'll admit that i've never had inside info on anything about UT football. But a few months ago my brother-in-law struck up a friendship with a vol that graduated last year and was a starter. I won't mention his name cause that would be wrong. But it came out of his mouth that daniel lincoln was one of the biggest douche bag A$$holes that he'd ever played with. He said he was cocky beyond belief and that most of the team hated him. So after learning this, i for one think he deserves any bashing he gets!! so Goodbye Mr. Lincoln!! i won't miss you a bleeping bit!! How is a kicker that cocky in the 1st place? just thought i'd pass that along. Happy New Year to all my fellow Vols!!! have fun and be safe...GBO:rock:

I don't feel sorry for him, but you have to remember that not everyone likes everyone they meet.

What some people see as cocky or whatever others like in someone.

Hearing that he just needs to join the Air Force and be a fighter pilot. :salute:

I don't feel sorry for anyone other than the fans that have had to suffer through this crap ever since 2001. We don't show up for bowl games and get embarrassed OR we play well until the final minutes and piss it all away with stupidity and indiscipline. Daniel Lincoln isn't the only player or coach that has served up a monster helping of "WTF" in the past 9 years.

If Lincoln is joining the Marines after he graduates, then he gets a pass from me. THAT takes more guts than anything we discuss on this board. However, I'm still sick of his kicking (or lack thereof).

Good luck, Daniel. Train hard and stay safe. I'll probably run into you sometime in the future.

Agree, he pisses me off as a kicker, but I would say that as a person I dont know him and would guess that 99% of us dont. No more kicking please, but thankful for the eventual service.

so you'll believe whatever someone says. regardless this thread shows how classless you are. in case you didn't know Lincoln is joining the marines after he graduates. i think that in itself deserves your respect.

Lots of people join the marines but that doesn't mean I HAVE to respect them. Just because you join the marines doesn't excuse you from beig a massive douche. I can't speak to Lincoln's personality because I don't know the guy, but I don't have to respect him because he signs his name on a peice of paper.

You are correct, you don't have to do anything. Paramount to saying "Your Not the Boss of Me". Though none of us who serve believe you MUST respect us, we would like to think we have earned it. But your right we are not the boss of you.

That's nice...although its the complete opposite of my experience.

I've had PA classes with the guy this year. Sat next to the man, worked with him in small groups, and been around him in social situations. He was a cool guy, pulled his weight on projects, and none of us had a single problem with him.

FWIW, two seniors on the team who I attend church with said the same thing.

In short, "one of the biggest douche bag A$$holes" is not how I would classify him.

So something doesn't jive here...

he cost us some big games in the past. three that come to mind: last night, Auburn in 09 (missed field goal and extra point that would have at least tied), and Bama 09 (for the love of all that is holy, kick it UP and not OUT! who cares if mount cody is a fat tub, you can kick it over his meaty fingers). i even had class with the guy, he's a great guy, terrible clutch kicker.
