If the fans expressing support for potential candidates is killing UT football, that's sad. The AD should take into consideration what the fans want, as we pay for the product on the field.

If the AD makes such poor and weak-willed decisions that they back out of the MOU because they realize their decisions were poor, they are the issue. We cannot trust that type of decision-making.

If either of these two candidates are hired, I won’t watch. While Kevin Steele is a good coordinator, he sucks as a HC. If this is what the University gives us, then they better prepare for rough times. This is a joke.

IMHO, from what I can gather, the reasoning is four-fold:

1) Currently, Top 5 recruiter with a QB he has made into Top 5 NFL prospect.

2) He knows Tennessee and bridges the gap from our past to our future.

3) He knows and has been successful in the SEC as a coach.

4) At this point, every option has risk. And in comparing the risk, why not just take the risk on one of our own?

We the fans didn't do this:

-Fire Fulmer
-Hire Kiffin with ridiculously low buyout for leaving
-Hire Dooley
-Hire Butch
-Attempt to hire Schiano without letting fans know he was a serious candidate until the day of the hire
-Offer the same coach that turned us down in 2012 $7 million for 6 years to leave his alma mater
-Ignore the obvious choice of Tee Martin who has already made it known he wants the job

I know he is a winner ,blah blah...my ex was a good peice of @$$ to but no....no.....You guys for years have wonder if we are cursed or sold our soul for that natty and now you wanna do the exact thing..Youve been preaching about morals for a few days , now have some...Taking him knowing all the baggage and sad part is we probably dont know the half of it, is not a fanbase that has integrity and morals...I know we are hungry for wins,hell i wish we would have a great season just for my 14 year old sons sake who has been hammered by bammers,and gators at school for years but no way I give up my morals and integrity.. Guys we talk about our self worth as a University to other fans and media and how we believe we are such a historic program,why would we lay our self worth at the alter of Lane kiffen..
