Since the replies are now going back well beyond the Pearl era... for outside shooting: Mike Edwards, Michael Brooks, Allan Houston, or Chris Lofton. For a PG... Rodney Woods, Tony Harris, or Johnny Darden. For size: Len Kosmalski, Tom Boerwinkle, Weezy, Slay, or Reggie Johnson. For a good outside shooter that is versatile and can play defense, JaJuan Smith. But for being a far better team, Bernard King and it's not even close.

A really good friend of mine was a roommate with Bernard King, so I'll go old school and pick BK.

Not sure if it's common knowledge but Major Wingate used to always wear pajamas and slippers to class. Never saw him in any other outfit (small sample size though). No pics though.. didn't have a cell phone camera back then.

Just for fun. If you could bring back one formal Vol player from the Pearl Era, Cuonzo Era, or the Tyndall Era to play on this years team, who would it be?

Personally for me, it's a toss up between Tobias Harris and Kevin Punter considering we lack another good scorer. Although, it would have been nice to see a Grant Williams/Jarnell Stokes combo.

Let's hear em.

Has to be Lofton.

Loved Ron Slay though.

If Bernard King played on this current Vol team, he would be scoring 30 a game with 12 boards.

NBA Dale Ellis would be a great help. There are several that would be better options than College Dale Ellis.

There was no 3 in college back then, if there was a 3, Ellis would have averaged 30. Ellis was, at least, a 2 time 1st team all SEC and once, a 3rd team all america.

Although a little earlier than you requested, I would go with CJ Watson. Our point guard play is a real problem....

What about semi-formal?

I'd say King, Houston, Grunfeld or maybe Boerwinkle.

Ellis played in the paint usually with his back to the basket while at UT. He didn't take many outside shots.

Duke Crews or Major Wingate, if they kept themselves out of trouble. Both big bangers down low that this team needs badly.

Wingate was a banger down low? You kidding me? Dude was a stick pole hanging out in the high post with opponents begging for him to get the ball

Hendrix
Brian Williams
Wayne Chism
Dane Bradshaw

All much better post players than Wingate.

Yes I said Dane Bradshaw.
