If you can't let it go, this is the annual "Trey Smith will never play a down of football ever again thread."

Just thought we may have some that feel the need to express themselves on this subject. After all some of our VN brethren may as well go 0-4, since they're 0-3 on the subject. Consistency means a lot to some folks.

A legitimate question for the doctors in here.

Does Trey's prior issues put him into a higher risk to develop COVID-19 complications? If so, I'd assume his age and fitness would mitigate that risk some, correct?

Honestly, he doesn't necessarily need to play another down to show his worth. I couldn't blame him, if he chose to move on. Now, It might improve his draft placing, and his monetary situation. But, if his health holds up,Trey Smith will be a fairly rich pro football player, one way or another.

Why? Is the constant discussion of the health of one of the players a "must see" topic? Are we the the National Enquirer?

One of the complications from COVID-19 is an increased risk of developing blood clots. I assume Trey is on blood thinners (Eliquis or other) already, which may help. However, an article in Harvard Health states that those taking blood thinners are at a higher risk of developing complications from COVID-19. The article references older patients, so it may not be directly related to Trey's situation. I am sure his doctor's have discussed the risk with him and his family.

I’m very confused. What is this even about?

Also, I wouldn’t think Trey would be any more susceptible to COVID since his issues aren’t truly respiratory related.
He had blood clots in his lungs, so obviously it could be respiratory related.

Yeah the clots from it are bad. Friend of mine had her leg amputated because of it.

I’m not a doctor, but it seems, unless they did actually damage to his lungs, then he doesn’t really have a respiratory issue, rather a circulatory.
In your extensive nonmedical opinion, you believe clots have no effect on the lungs?

I mean if he didn't play this fall because of this, he basically should just lock himself in a bubble, because playing or not playing its not gonna make much difference as far as risk is concerned. If he didn't play would he just leave the university all together? You'd think he'd still be around the guys anyway and workout with them.

Besides that and his clot issues, young people fair EXTREMELY well against this Virus.

He’s a pretty good student and he’s not playing in the NFL...this season.

Help others let it go. It will help you let it go.

It seems as every day dawns we have a new threat posed by C-19. A new malady that helps c-19 take us down. Lets face it, breathing can encourage C-19. If you feel threatened, stay home or what ever. I am well into my twilight years, I tell anyone who asks me my position on C-19 limiting my life style I tell them, I am not going to let this or most anything else stop me from enjoying the few years I have left. So as long as I am not effecting someone else's health, I just get on with things.
"Life must go on".
