They wouldn't like me, lol. Probably kill me. They'd know i didn't like how they were playing though. I wouldn't tip toe around any feelings.

Hookers. Blow. Bags of Cash. Paying off refs. Infiltrating the SEC and NCAA with pro UT yes men. Lobby in state politicians to give us more money and screw our instate rivals however possible. Pay off Alabama's DA Steve Marshall to trump up charges against the University of Alabama chief donors and get them held up in court for years on end. Do similar things to Georgia and Florida when funds replenish.

We all know the Haslams would play ball.

Ohh... but I guess you meant on the field.

Smokey grey and white all season. Faded white angled power T on the grey helmet. We run the option with Maurer. No Rocky Top all season. Fans are asked to only chant The Maxims the entire game. Scripts will be handed out. Hard rest for the entire UT family. If we play well enough, next season we earn some of it back. Keep winning and we get more. Fill up the stadium? We get more.... you get the idea.


We don't just need to know what it's like to win. We need to know what it takes to win.

They need to simplify the defense and figure out what the hell is going on with the communications issues.

Way too many blown assignments and they look confused even trying to get lined up a lot of the time.

Martin would also be on the sidelines as passing game coordinator. Hes got the experience to maybe help calm Guarantano down a bit and slow the game down for him.

I wouldn't bother preparing for the first game of the year. I'd play as many people as possible and shuffle them around constantly. I would not use any of the practice time during the fall to evaluate how well my team was mentally prepared and confident to execute what I wanted to run. I'd just assume everyone knows what they're supposed to do. I would instead begin super secret preparations for BYU and Florida so as to catch them so off guard that they would spend the entire game confused and befuddled by the creativity and lack of vanilla that was thrust upon them that day.

If Pruitt had done that, they'd be 4-0

First thing, I move Jauan Jennings to QB. He’s my best player, team leader and motivator. I want the ball in his hands every play. Simplify the offense to the simplest run/option possible. Im throwing Pruitt’s 3-4 defensive scheme into the trash can since and going back to 4-3 which is better suited for the personnel we have.

1. Bench JG and reopen the QB competition between JT and Maurer.

2. Move Crouch permanently to RB.

3. Go to a 2 TE set about 85% of the time.

4. Bench Nigel Warrior and play the young guys.

In all seriousness, I don't know what to do.

They can't and aren't going to fire him because they don't want to appear toxic for the hire of another coach.

However, he's not the guy and I think everyone knows that. Barring some miracle where they beat some people they aren't supposed to, he's not going to change anyone's mind. And I don't know what the sales pitch is in the living room to a recruit because I don't think playing time is a good enough sell.

And while I agree that there are young players that look good on that team, the reality is that there are a lot of guys from Pruitt's recruiting classes that aren't playing. And I call into question anyone on that team right now that isn't good enough to earn playing time.

I would change to a zone defense immediately, back to 43 next year.

I'd have Chaney dig out the play book from the Kiffin year and install immediately.

-First, I'd start the qb that Chaney wants and let him plan around what he can do. If that's JG, great. If not, so be it.
-Second, I'd take any Pruitt recruit who is physically ready to play, accept that he's going to make mistakes but start him anyway.
-Third, I'd tell my coaches that they'd better be busting it on the recruiting trail or they'll be working somewhere else next year.
-Fourth, I'd tell my staff to make the instate kids the priority for filling out our needs for the rest of this class. Secure the state.
-Finally, I'd make the portal a daily visit. I'd identify any and all talent that could help me next year especially at qb. I'd get at least one but try to get 2 transfers who could play and help us next year. No way I would go into next season with just Hill, Maurer and Bailey at qb. I'd expect, plan for and encourage JG and Shrout to transfer out.

...then I would have as much D1 Head Coaching experience and would have re-built as many programs as the last Head Coach hired. It's the Tennessee way.

1. Let the grass grow and water the field until it is set to become a quagmire. High grass and mud are allies of outmanned football teams.

2. Simplify everything, offensively and defensively, so that the team can put the best effort possible on the field. Majors did this in 1988 after we started 0-6. The season ended well and built momentum for 1989 and 1990.

2. Bench the quarterback and give this offense the chance to grow together as a cohesive unit for 2020 and beyond without the burden of Guarantano holding it back.

3. Adjust the offense into a run-heavy scheme with elements of the Monken lead option combined with a Neyland-style Single Wing emphasizing a concentration of blocking power upon the weak edges of most modern defensive alignments.

4. Reassign Weinke and Special Friend to Permanent Latrine Orderlies (PLOs) for the remainder of the season. Inform other coaches who are oxygen thieves during recruiting season that their services will no longer be required after the Vanderbilt game.

5. Smack the bowl cut off of Kirby Smart's fat head.
