If you are Wilcox, what do you do about Teague at CB?

Hate to call a player out, but he gets beat deep every game we play against a good team.

the big play this game he actually appeared to have pretty decent coverage. seemed like he was about an inch away from breaking up the pass. that being said, i wish we had a better option, but i dont think we do

The pass play in the first half, Teague was beat by a yd...he ended up diving and touched the receivers feet. As well, that was a great pass over the shoulder and the QB lead him perfectly. Hard to defend that play.

Why not move teague to saftey? i feel like hes not a terrible run stopper, and i feel like hes a pretty good football mind.. however he doesnt have the speed needed to run with these WR at corner..

I'd go with Lanier, Waggner, Brewer, Randolph.

Saw Moore out there a bit tonight, maybe he's finally coming along.

Nothing to do, we have no one to replace him.

Actually they do. Randolph is picking it up fast and will be a stud at safety. Though the first TD pass of the 2nd half was against Waggner, his coverage was pretty good. Lanier seems to be settling into the other corner.

This trial by fire for Randolph may pay big dividends for the rest of the season.

Put his butt on the bench. Which we did, but Dooley said in the post-game that Lanier had something in his eye and had to sit for a play, and that's when Teague got beat deep.

You could accept that if it were a rare occurrence. I really wish things were different for the kid... but he's not cutting it.

Like CDD said, they had another corner in and he got something in his eye, put in #10 to spell him and they went right after him.

I trust our coaches enough that if there was someone better than him he would be playing. And he is, just can play every snap.

The problem on that play was that the WR just ran right by him. Teague never impeded him in any manner. No jam at the line, no suttle "nudge" downfield, nothing. It wasn't a slant-and-go, or a double move, the guy just plain ran right by him. Teague may as well have been on the bench on that play, he could have played it just as well from there. Don't know what happened to him. He was great against Florida, whose WR are probably on par with Alabama's.

SAFETY!? IDK what on earth brought you to the conclusion that he is "not a terrible run stopper" but you obviously didn't watch the Florida game.

We have a stupid DC who keeps putting him in man coverage and doesn't pressure the QB--setting him up to fail! He isn't that good either! :salute:

Did Byron Moore see any playing time? I thought he was supposed to be an immediate playmaker in the secondary?
