You’re an absolute idiot. We offered top tier coaches top tier money, that’s all but been confirmed by UT. When you’re making 5-10 million a year, money isn’t your biggest motivator in work.
If were going to spend nearly 2million on an AD, and 4million on yet another mid-major coach in decline, we should have brought Chadwell home...and given him every resource he needed to establish a program here. You’re an absolute idiot. Not interviewing him, paying a search firm, and hiring the AD's previous coach all adds up to malfeasance.
So again I ask, are we to believe that the triple option is all he is equipped to coach and run? If so, he's not likely to be a head coach very long.No AD wants to hitch their wagon to the triple option (check my post history, I liked Chadwell). I don’t agree with it, but I get it.
Hell, we didn't even give Napier a look, and he's in the same type of camp as Chadwell, in my opinion. Such a sham, and hiring the coach from the place the AD just left just reeks with a horrible stench of desperation. A great look for a team trying to rebuild! So again I ask, are we to believe that the triple option is all he is equipped to coach and run? If so, he's not likely to be a head coach very long.
Besides...they were as successful through the air as they were on the ground. It wasn't like he was running the Wing-T.

Blows my mind nobody understands this. The guys most of our fans wanted get to pick and choose what best suits their career. Coming into this situation at Tennessee is not a smart career choice. Those coaches worth breaking the bank for already have enough money in the bank to pass on jobs they don’t view as a good fit.

(regarding South Carolina and Auburn openings this year)
Neither program fit Napier’s blueprint. The opportunities were not perfect, and Napier quickly realized he is just fine waiting for the perfect job.
“He doesn’t want to take a job that already has immediate disadvantage built in before you play a game,” a person close to Napier told 247Sports.
