IF! With Richt Out, GA Comes Calling to Dooley

No....
A. Because his record doesn't warrant it.
B. It's a lateral move as far as programs go (maybe a slight step down)
C. Already said he doesn't want to follow his dad

As you were. Nothing to see here. Come on, keep it moving. Let's go people.

Didn't Muschamp and Kirby Smart both go to UGA? I think I heard both have said UGA is the only school they would leave their current jobs for.

Dooley isn't leaving UT for uga, he is our coach and isn't going anywhere. These silly things always get started without any merit. Not happening. GO VOLS! Uga is probably going to go after Muschamp but I don't know if they can land him or not but he did play there. GO VOLS!

uga's president adams hates anything dooley with a passion. No way he would hire vince's son.
Hate is probably a little strong, but there's definitely no love lost between the Dooleys and Michael Adams.

Great Thread for many reasons:

- It's in the future so we can't know the specific circumstances.
- It's about a coaching change, and so nothing any coach says has any credibility.
(It's the NCAA's version of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell"!)
- The entire UT Fanbase (OK, almost all of us) is still butt-hurt from our ex-coach leaving after one year.

Come on in boys! The water's fine.

I say he doesn't go to UGA when Saint Richt gets fired at the end of next year.

Why does someone do this every week?

I almost wish the bumpkins would start posting youtube videos of "Tom Dooley" thinking it was witty than see this every Wednesday on schedule.

First of all, CVD would encourage CDD not to accept a UGA offer if it came his way due to the unethical way Adams does his business (in several public instances, inside and outside the athletic dept.). Secondly, CMR has much more fan support than you might think. UGA is rebuilding with a freshman QB and has a highly ranked WR who hasn't been permitted to play a down this year. Thirdly, if UGA were to send CMR packing, I think we'd be flattering outselves if we believe that they would come after an unproven young coach like CDD. IMO, a HCing job at UGA has more appeal today to HC prospects than did the UT job when Hammy jumped at the first guy who was willing to give it a shot.

Dooley leaving us for UGA...

1. If he did, UT football goes in the tank for another 5 years.

2. Why would UGA be interested in someone that is unproven at this level? UGA is not going to hire someone based upon pedigree alone. If Richt is let go, I'm guessing they go for the "splash" hire and not going the route of Alabama to "keep it in the family". They have already tried that with Ray Goff about 20 years ago.

3. Richt still has 9 games remaining. Anything can happen.

Dooley wouldn't go. Many reasons why not, most of which have been posted here. Primarily, though, because he has integrity and has some manhood about him, unlike Kiffin (that sounds like an Old Spice commercial).

That's the big thing, IMO. Just because Kiffin left doesn't mean all other coaches would give up the Tennessee job.
