If Wisconsin embarasses us....

Remember last year when I posted that "what would a loss to PSU mean" thread? That thing blew up overnight! If I posted the same thing this year about Wis. it probably wouldn't recieve 20 replies. Just goes to show the difference a year makes........

Maybe its just me but im not confident in our bowl game or for next season, maybe other fans somehow have this feeling or maybe im just not a real fan idk

I just cant get excited about the 2008 season,I just dont think we have the talent that Georgia,Florida,Bama,LSU,and Auburn have heading into next season.

Our recruiting class this year is absolutely pitiful, and we're all hoping Crompton doesnt play as inconsistent as Ainge did.

idk, maybe a huge win over Wisconsin will raise my hopes but right now im just not sure

If that's true then just don't watch.

I think the SEC will be decided in the East. LSU loses a ton of good players and Pelini. Miles is not a great coach... Watch for the play to drop off much like UT's progressively did after Sanders took over. Pelini and Fisher carried Miles... and worst of all... his ego has convinced him that he did it.

Auburn should be favored in the West.

UT's talent is on par with UGA and close enough to UF's. IMO it depends on who the new offensive staff is and whether Chavis comes up with better DL play and depth... it wouldn't hurt if Slade moved on either.

UT should have the best and deepest back 7 on D. They return all their WR's, a great group of TE's if Warren gets in, all of their RB's, and about 7 of their top 8 on the OL.

It is always an unknown when you lose your starting QB... but a Parade AA, Army AA award winning, highly ranked guy who has been in the program for 3 years is about as good as it gets there.

UF returns very good talent but how much better are they going to be on D? Their O carried them more so than UT's did... but they did it the whole year.

I'm not buying UGA yet. I like them a million times more than UF but They lose Henderson, Bailey, Brown, 2 OL's, PK, a DL, and two DB's. Plus they lose Brandon Miller who played all over for them on D.

For the third straight year, UT's season will probably hinge on how well the DT's play.

Yeah... so bad that he was the first of the newcomers to earn Trooper's and Cut's respect and PT.

He's a Freshman for goodness sake. Show some class.

This time last year, a good portion of super-genius talent evaluators on VN said that Lucas Taylor sucked. Now those same people are crying because he won't be playing in the bowl game.

Like it or not, the only way Phil leaves TN ever is if he retires. Theres no way to fire the winningest active head coach. You can pressure him to step down, but if people are waiting for Fulmer to retire, you may be in for a bit of a wait. I am not a big Phil fan, but those are the facts.
sad to say but you are right on

It looks like for some of the older Vol fans that their only hope of seeing another HC at the University of Tennessee is thru the science of.........cryogenics!:cray:

How do we know Crompton isnt the next Erik Ainge?
Average QB with good tools, who either wins or loses a game for you but you dont have the assurance he can do it.

Can Arian Foster carry the load,25 carries per game to take pressure off of Crompton?

Is Lucas Taylor even coming back next year?if not then who do we rely on as our playmaker at WR?

We should've won the SEC this year, and been competing in a BCS Bowl.
Every year it seems we're on the edge.

Look how close we came to losing to SC,Vandy,Kentucky, and Miss St.
Our problem all season were we couldnt get any real big plays, and our defense got ripped apart all game to keep the opponent in the game and had to bail us out towards the end.

We have 4* and 5* talent on Defense and Offense but neither our offense or defense is as potent as Florida,UGA,and LSU are.

Although we redshirt most of our freshmen, the talent still comes from having good recruiting classes every year. Our 2008 class is unacceptable because most of the players we're bringing in will be bench players, but we're losing our step in the south in terms of recruiting

In order:
1.Alabama
2.Miami
3.Florida State
4.Georgia
5.Florida
6.Texas
7.Oklahoma
8.LSU
9.Clemson
10.Auburn
11.Ole Miss
12.Arkansas

Thats from the southern schools alone.
USC,Notre Dame,Ohio State, and others are plucking southern talent from us,and with coaching changes at schools like Arkansas,North Carolina and Michigan w/Rich Rod there could be even more talent being sucked out of the south to these programs.
Espescially if Terry and Jeff Bowden head to West Virginia,Jeff Bowden is one of the best scouts/recruiters in the country and that could open up Florida and other states for WVU even more.

Im just worried:unsure:

I feel like we're running on a treadmill,we just keep winning 7-9 games per season and you just lose excitement for the season,Im just 16 but all my childhood I've been used to Tennessee winning or being in BCS games and lately we've taken a step down from a National Contendor to just being another middle of the pack SEC team:(.

Better question:

If we would have beat LSU would it change or even begin to change anyone's mind about keeping Fulmer?

answer: No
