If we win out, could we be heading to the Outback bowl?

Yes please!

Tennessee looks less like a team praying to finish 6-6 and sneaking into a bowl game, and more like a team ready to grab a postseason nod by the throat.

That’s the impression the Vols left after beating Kentucky on Saturday. The result shuffled our projections a bit, with Tennessee now projected for the Outback Bowl. If Tennessee beats Missouri and Vanderbilt over the next two weeks, the Vols will own a 4-game winning streak and become more appealing both as a hot team and as a program with a reputation for traveling well and selling tickets. Plus the Outback generally chooses an SEC East team — this is not a hard and fast rule because Auburn and LSU have gone to Tampa on New Year’s Day in recent years. But we’re going with the usual trend.

Honestly, I will be thrilled with any bowl game this season. That would be an awesome achievement for this team. I have seen a lot of improvement this year, but the South Carolina and Charlotte games had me concerned. I was afraid the team was giving up. It was nice to see us dominate Kentucky. That definitely made me feel like the culture is changing.

Agreed, they had ups and down, as to be expected. A bowl game would be a tremendous boost for the program in a lot of ways, not the least of which would be the extra practices.

I’m gonna help us out here because my omnipotent self declared, stupidly I might add, that after the Charlotte game we had seen our last win. So I’m going to just keep the reverse psychology on track and declare it here too. Wink, wink. We’ve seen our last win, no bowl game for us, we won’t finish 7-5. Woe is us. 😉. GBO!

Saw someone else had us in the Belk bowl. Frankly, I would be thrilled with that. Outback bowl would just be a crazy dream come true.

Just don't com in here crying and moaning and wanting to fire everybody if they lose one or both
Isn't that how we roll? Fans just want wins......over-looking fact. Which is we have a long way to go, yet. UT executed well for one half and about half of the 3rd quarter this past saturday. Mizzou and Locke go about things differently in that they use their passing game effectively and mix in the run well. UT is looking to be consistent in their execution of plays on offense and UT's defense faces quite a challenge against Mo. A driving rain would be the best thing that could happen to slow down the tigers. Hopefully UT's defense continues to improve as they appear to be getting consistent faster than our offense. As a few posters have stated any bowl would be greatly appreciated considering the mess a new HC and staff are attempting to get turned around.

Who can figure which Tennessee team we will have on any particular day? I can't. I do want them to win at least one of the two. Do I expect them to win out? This is a hope killing season, so I'll just wait and see what they do.

My tempered expectations:
A win on Missouri will be a bonus, but a Lil' brother beat down of Vandy is the next box the Vols need to check.

The keys to winning the next two games are simple. We have to do exactly what we did vs Kentucky. We need to go out there wearing the same outfit, eating the same meal, and sitting on the same sofa/bleacher/stool you did for UK. If you stood the whole game or didn’t change your underwear beforehand then you’ll be uncomfortable again but this is for the team.

It’s not superstitious if it works so do it again.

Showing a rematch with Nowrthwestern in the Outback? Hopefully not, you want to see some variety. I'd rather see it switched to Penn State...we owe them and Franklin some payback.
