If we only win by 14 will everyone be upset? I am listeing to the radio and Hodge said if we don't win by 35 he is concerned about our season

beating UT Martin by 50 shouldn't make anyone "Un-concerned" about our season. There are too many question marks until we've played Oregon and really see what we've got on the field.

yeah I will but then again we swarmed WKU and still lost to lowly UCAL so do we need to score 80 to have a chance for a good season :eek:lol:

Don't forget we beat W. Ky by a bagillion and then lost to UCLA so I don't care what we beat UTM by. It means nothing.

If we only win by 14, it's because our lead was so big, that Dooley put in all the back-ups to get as much playing time as possible...they are going to need it...and UTM scored a couple of late "trash TDs"

I would be disappointed slightly yes.....but it would have no meaning as for the rest of the season IMO....as mentioned we destroyed WKU then lost to UCLA so......

This! Look what happened last year when we drilled WKU and then lose at home to UCLA the next week. As far as the season goes, we wont know much untill after the duck hunting game!!

If its that close we got bigger problems than we thought. That being said, I don't think we will have to worry about it. We won't really know what we got and how well we will match up until Oregon.

There is not a # UT can win by against UT Martin that will make me feel good about. They are Martin! Get a grip dude.

Go back and check an early score from the 1989 season and then tell me if it matters what the score is.

Tennessee - 34

UT favored by 3 TDs...

Year???...1998...enough said!!!

I guess this will depend on how coach DD feels about running up the score on someone. I dont think he is that kind of person but hopefully we will be in the position to find out. I am hopefully optimistic.

I really hope Dooley will score 75 if he can score 75, I don't care who it is. I know on a team like that its really not cool but my point of view is that its football, you're not out there to make friends. You're out there to win football games.

I have to admit that I'm not opposed to "running up the score" myself. It did make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside last year when we did it to W. Kentucky.

Except that was a total fraud. Syracuse won the big east that year and had the best QB in the country. It was like in 2001 where Florida was favored by 18 points. Total crock.

I will take it one game at a time. W or L, I will look for the positives and negatives for that game only and not make assumptions about the whole season or CDD in general from one game. At the end of the season, I will look at the whole season and see if there was improvement and see what the level of effort was over the whole season. I believe that experience will make this very young team much better by the end of the season than at the beginning of the season.

I dont think Dooley will be the type of Coach to run up the score....especially in the fashion that X did last night against Hawaii. Monte's D has been shredded in games against the Spread and Run n Gun formations going back to last season. But I think it was more X being arrogant than his father's inept D.

If the starters play the entire game and Tennessee wins by 14, then I'm alarmed.

If it goes like the Memphis game last year, I don't care.
