If Bray were to commit this weekend or even sometime next week, do you guys think it will knock downt the door for us to land some more weapons on the offensive side of the ball & to start getting some of those OL that are still out there?? We wouldnt have the excuse of well we dont have a QB thats why we didnt get this guy or that guy. & if so, who do you think we will get commits from?

Yes. There will be plenty of linemen who will want to block for Bray, Brown and Oku. I think that's why some have been hesitant to pull the trigger. It's hard to block if you're running the football 80% of the time for the next three years. Bray changes that.

No, I don't think it will have much of an effect at all. We have gotten two 4star WRs without even having a QB. Cobbs is probably coming no matter what happens with Bray. The OL we are after now are big name guys. They have offers from schools who already have top notch QBs committed. They know they will be blocking for a solid QB no matter where they go. jmo...

Not that you were implying it, but I don't expect it overnight. We are running out of spots and they will have to be very careful in order to fulfill their needs.

They can only take the guys near the top of the board from here on out. I think by mid-October Tennessee will have at least 20 commits.

I'm with you, but I won't say all. I believe there will be a commit or two swayed if we get a decent qb.

I agree it won't really do much for skill positions but I do believe it will help with linemen. What linemen wants to come block for Stephens for one year and then a freshman quarterback or Lamaison....

Actually, lineman have always said that they prefer run blocking instead of pass protecting. It's easier to attack the defense rather than defend against it.

Yes it will make it much easier to recruit to the offensive side of the ball.

To be honest, I'm amazing at how well this staff has recruited so far offensively without a "QB of the future" in the fold.

By signing day 2010 it will have a big effect on offensive lineman and maybe even a few more skill players.

That wasn't really my point about getting linemen after landing a quarterback. You have to at least have a quarterback that can manage a game. Lamaison or a freshman might not be able to do that. If they come here and Tennessee has to run the ball every single play because the quarterbacks suck, opposing defenses will just stack the box which would make coming here as a linemen pointless. You can't run the ball every single play and expect to win games or even pick up many yards.... unless you run Georgia Tech's offense. It's amazing what they can do in that offense running the ball.

No kidding right? It's like the staff worked backwards and convinced them if they came that a quarterback would follow. I could see a player or two buying into that but they've basically recruited an entire offense that bought into it.

It really is amazing. Since February he's landed four 4-star WR's, a 4-star RB and a 5-star RB without any "QB of the future" in the fold. Now he's about to get that as well!

I agree. What I also think is amazing about this staff is how they are uncovering talent before the other schools out there even know who these kids are. Delvin Jones is a prime example, along with Bray, who has came out of nowhere and is now a top10 QB prospect. It just makes wonder how good some of these Juco and unknown commits will be when they get on the field.

If we get Bray, the I will be happy.

I got to watch the Elite 11 and he was well praised. One second amongst all of that talent!
