If we played Iowa's schedule

Big Ten (cant count) uses more excuses than any conference out there

-Cold weather, cheating from other conferences, academics, having to travel to bowl games, etc

when in reality, the population base is dying, you are playing mostly slow white boys at key positions, the majority of your programs have always been average, and youve won 1.5 NCs in 40 yrs...

the Big Ten will never be what it was back in the 40s-70s and even THEN was basically Ohio St and Michigan with one other team being decent in a given year...

but hey now you have Rutgers and Maryland LMAO

Game time temps this year...

Ding Ding Ding You my friend hit it out of the park! Exactomundo! The Eastern sports writing block who once controlled the NC lost their leverage and when they did, the Big 10 became mediocre competitors on the gridiron comparatively. Hell Ohio State skated in this year, they are taking the place of Baylor who in my opinion should have their spot. The Big 10 commissioner has been whining, politicing, and begging for so long it worked this year. Often you'll still find one of Notre Dame, Ohio State, or Michigan having a prominent place in the preseason polls each year positioning them without earning it for a NC, getting blown out in their last bowl appearance and then showing up in the top 5 the following year.

For the record Ohio State in the SEC West this year MAY have been at the #5 slot.

8-4 at best, we couldn't beat Florida for crying out loud and we didn't roll Dobbs out there until half way through the season.

No way we go 10-2 against that schedule. Have we forgotten about our o-line already?

I expect a tight game. Iowa will control the LOS so we will need a handful of big plays to keep it close or win.

Thank god. This man is REALISTIC!

Ohio St cancelled their series with both UGA and UT...hard to come up north when you chicken out every time...

To be fair, though, both of those cancellations came when the Big 10 was still set on having its teams play 9 conference games plus each playing a yearly game against a Pac-12 team.

and UT has played at Notre Dame, Rutgers, Syracuse, Army, B.College so take your BS excuses somewhere else

there isnt that much difference in aug thru november weather in the Big Ten vs SEC except for the extremes (Minnesota and Florida I.E.)

So we haven't traveled north for a game since 2005, then, correct?

Looks like 2005 was the first time we had since 1998...with the others you mentioning being a ND game in 1991, a BC game in 1987, a ND game in 1978, an Army game in 1973...I mean we've done it but it seems fairly sparingly, especially over the last two decades

The game vs Rutgers in 1983 was at an NFL stadium...were they the home team or was that a neutral site game?

(I'm starting to wonder if we were refusing to return a home game with some of those schools, at the time.)

BrewHawk-- Got me there. I gave you a like. Minnesota has sucked since Hayden Fox retired from coaching there.

What happens if we lose to Iowa?

What is your scenario of the loss -- multiple, questionable play-calling after 1-month of planning; a hard fought game, with final 4 minute drive and a blocked or missed 37yrd FG into swirling wind to tie; 1 yrd short on 4th and 5, in double OT?

What happens if we win?

The Negavols will probably be happy if UT loses to Iowa. They'll use it in their arguments against Butch Jones.

No Vol fan is happy with a loss but if we lose the blame always starts with the coach.
