Northern Iowa Panthers Won 31-23

Ball State Cardinals Won 17-13

Iowa State Cyclones Lost 20-17

Pittsburgh Panthers Won 24-20

Purdue Boilermakers Won 24-10

Indiana Hoosiers (HC)Won 45-29

Maryland Terrapins Lost 38-31

Northwestern Wildcats Won 48-7

Minnesota Golden Gophers Lost 51-14

Illinois Fighting Illini Won 30-14

Wisconsin Badgers Lost 26-24

Nebraska Cornhuskers Lost 37-34 (2OT)

I think we go 10-2 on that schedule. Lose to Wisconsin and Minnesota. They have a lot of 3 pt wins. We should kill them! JMHO

On the flip side I don't think they make a bowl game with our schedule. Again JMHO!

Keep in mind you have to play half your games in weather where you can't feel your hands and there's a 20+ MPH wind to throw into. Maybe some snow or sleet.

It affects the gameplan/style of play a bit.

Wouldn't it effect both teams?

Yeah and I think that argument is so funny.... I have family up in Ohio and they are all big10 homers and that's all they ever say about the sec is that I'd like to see them come play in this cold weather. And my argument back is then why won't Ohio St. and the other big10 teams schedule some SEC teams in a home and home. The weather goes both ways, you are correct.

Haha, Iowa thought the same thing. 10-2 no problem! But yeah I agree that is a very simple schedule, even for Iowa standards.

Both SOW ranking (strength of weather) and SOS must be considered going in to any fall/winter season. Does anyone know our SOW, by the way?

half? Iowa is not that cold in early Oct. It doesn't get real cold in Iowa until late Nov, just like here.

We would be 11-1 or 10-2

Iowa had an easy easy schedule, they would be 4-8 vs our schedule

what BS...the temperature from Knoxville to say Madison Wisconsin is close to the same for most of Aug thru nov.

try again with the typical big ten excuses to why they always lose to Southern and Western teams

You would have had Indiana on your schedule, who beat the mighty Missou Tigers.

SEC has hadd the upper hand on most Big Ten teams in recent history; but, not Iowa. Ferentz is (4-2) 3-2 against (current) SEC teams in bowls
Beat: Florida, LSU, S. Carolina, and Missouri (2010 - hence the 4-2 vs 3-2)
Lost to: Florida, LSU

What???

Nebraska was 62 degrees
Iowa played Wisconsin at home 54 degrees
Illinois Nov. 15 35 degrees
Minnesota Nov. 8 42 degrees.

Your argument is worthless! Please check before posting unsubstantiated information! :thud:

Try again!!! Next!! :spank:

So if we lose to this team in which u say we would be 10 n 2 with their schedule.. What excuse will VN have??

I say the six teams we beat were freaking terrible so how we stack up will be coaching..

I say we struggle.. I haven't been impressed with tn offensively at all this yr so its a toss up.

Nice first post
You beat an 8-5 Florida team under zook... Which we beat that year
You beat a 9-2 depleted lsu team that didn't give a damn because ole st. Nick was leaving for the league
You beat a 7-5 South Carolina team, need I say more
You beat a 10-2 Missouri team that wasn't even in the sec that year so who knows what that record would have been.

And your two losses came to a 10-3 lsu team who had one bad loss to ole miss and two losses to teams ranked in the top 10 and one of those being #1 at the time.
Your other loss came to Florida and in that year they lost to the number 5,11,12 teams in the county all of which are sec teams also.

That record of 4-2 is trash

Why do you always boil it down to excuses? You do know that excuses are also referred to as reasons. Our team is young, our line has been in shambles all year, but they have fought and made us proud with the second most difficult schedule in the nation. It's almost as if you expect a loss, and can't wait to post your usual bs about firing this staff, etc. I will say the same thing that you have heard in response to your posts all year, if you can't see improvement in UT football, your blind or you don't really have UT football in your best interest.

Depleted LSU team? with Brousard, Addai, Spears, Randell, J. Russell, Dwayne Bowe, Whitworth, Webster, Landry, C. Davis ect, ??? really?
Iowa had an unbelievable year with injuries that year. At one point they were using their 7th string running back as all others were hurt. In the bowl game it was either their 4th or 5th string running back that was healthy enough to play. So, I'm not buying any "depleted" excuse for LSU on that year.
