That's not a honest question.
Or door #3 - get a coach LiKE Bruce Pearl or Ray Mears who gets their team ready to win all year long rather than just the last 10 games and we NIT is never in the discussion
Although Mears was 1 and done in NCAA it was a different era then and a lot fewer teams. I'm sure he could have beaten some cupcakes
Yes it was an honest question. Last year I thought we could benefit from an extended run in the NIT primarily because of stokes lack of experience. I don't feel that way this year. Just because you have an opinion doesn't make the question less valid. I don't see how having you're a$$ handing to you in a first round game, possibly a play in game benefits your program. That is my opinion However and I would respect yours regardless of whether it disagrees with mine.
It's been asked and about 3 threads started about it the last week, just gets old seeing it. Look at USCjr they go NIT all the time, won it 2 years in a row, what'd it do for them. Zo has never been to the NCAA, it's the biggest negative against him in recruiting.
The biggest thing, next year we all hope is THE year. The talent is there for them to go elite 8, it'd be nice if we had some NCAA experience heading there next year.
The Vols would likely get a number one seed again, right? That's something to cheer about. Extra games in Knoxville.
No sorry not many extra games in Knoxville if we get NIT although we would probably be a #1 seed. Lady vols host NCAA games in Knoxville that week we get a game Wednesday and may get kicked to road. We need to play like we belong which ever tourney we make.

No way I'm going to TBA to watch us play with some scrubs in the NIT. It's not even worth my time to watch it on TV. That's not being a bad fan, it's voicing that we won't accept mediocre play in Tennessee. Remember the year we had 3,000 in attendance for the NIT opener? Hell, I'd love to see an empty house. Show the athletic department how displeased we are by the performance of our beloved team. It won't look good to recruits, sure, but it will still help us in the long run.

Please be a true VFL and support our team in the NIT, rather than being a loser an who refuses to watch our NIT games. This team has worked hard and become so much better over the last month or two, and after Georgia game #1 no one thought we would ever be in this position. Sure we spent a lot of this season sucking, but we have been resilient and overcame adversity to be where we are now. If nothing else, do it for the seniors. I personally think we are deserving of an NCAA bid, but I will support my Vols either way.
