If we lose the UAB game.....

That year UAB had a good solid defense and a decent offense. this year the d is not good at all but the o is not to bad!

I don't know about that. UAB only won about 5 games in 2005. And the 10pts scored against UAB by UT was the 2nd-least of any opponent we played that year. Troy scored 7pts. The 3rd-least points scored on UAB were by Memphis and Marshall (who both scored 20pts).

I will agree that it is highly UNLIKELY that UAB will win tomorrow. But UAB has beaten LSU and Mississippi State in our history, so it's not a completely absurd idea. Having said that, UAB is far below the scholarship number... so we're not only inexperienced, but we're short-handed. Hopefully the game will end up being close, but I wouldn't be surprised if it weren't.

I agree with an earlier post that the Vols have a way of helping the least talented teams look better than they are. We play according to the opponent's level of talent. It would be nice to see the Vols "blow-out" an opponent. Could this happen against UAB??????

I am hoping for a complete game. Start to finsih, 60 minutes worth. Anything less will be a disapppointment. If our level of play makes them look good, allows them to hang around to the point where they start believing and the Vol fans start booing, I will be disappointed.

we'll not play a complete game, we'll be killing them before half time and fulmer will call off the dogs.

i would like to see us be up by 4 TD before the half. i'd like to see our young QBs get some playing time.

IF we do lose to UAB...you can bet your last dollar that Fulmer says "We are going to play like heck to beat Florida"...as far as crying, you will be able to hear my wails from Indiana all the way to Neyland.

Your offense will score. I wouldn't worry about that. Our secondary is even weaker than our run defense, so that's one thing that's encouraging a bit to some UAB folks since the passing part of UT's offense seems to be weaker than your run game. However, given the size of our DL and our lack of depth, UT will eventually be able to wear down our front line.

UAB's offense, however, will likely score as well. UAB's offense is pretty much scoring every time they get the ball. We've had a few punts and a few turnovers that have led to no scores, but most of the time, UAB has moved the ball this season. I don't expect scoring to be just as easy against UT's defense as it was against FAU and Tulsa, but I figure UAB will score more than the 10pts scored against UT in 2005.

Our OL is pretty big, so UAB is going to run the ball as much as we can... whether it be tradition run plays, option plays with our QB, or a version of Arkansas' Wild Hog formation that we run with one of our ATH that played some QB in high school.

For my prediction, I'll go with:

UT- 38
UAB- 24
