If we had been told in preseason that curt Maggit, was going to miss the season, that we were going to lose 2 offisive line men, pig Howard ,north, croom, and play a freshman front four what would the predications say!

That's were we are vols, not much to whine about, just a tough season.

They would say "we are going through what all programs go through". ALL programs have injuries and play young players. We are not a special snowflake.

7-5. We will be lucky to get there though. Everyone goes through injuries.

Injuries we all knew if we had a lot, it would be a tough year, but with punchgate in full swing , what's next?

If we had known... then we would have known what the excuse would be this year.

the problem with all of that is that injuries do not occur in a vacuum. Some are produced by the pace and physicality of practice. Some are even produced by the system a team runs.

No whining. Just recognizing that Jones isn't getting it done. He just does not appear to be up to the task.

Every team has injuries at this stage. We have been pretty lucky actually. Look how many players UF lost, no complaints there.

We don't even have 85 scholarships ! Depth is an issue here at this point in time !

I would have said we win the OU and UF game with 13 and 14 point leads in the middle of the 4th quarter

Okay! Maggit is a huge loss! We got beat by a team that killed the # 3team in the nation

I am not for or against firing Butch. I like him. I appreciate everything he does and has done. However, he should be accountable for this suckage that we are forced to watch each week. Furthermore, excuses and more excuses are delivered in multiple threads each day. No excuse to lose two ball games that we had the game in the bag. I don't care who was hurt. No excuse to lose either of those games.

You forgot the starting 'nickel back', Raashan Gaulden.

The predictions would have been more like 6-6. We need juniors and seniors in our 2-deep, not true freshmen and 2nd year sophomores... Until then, every game will be a challenge.

I keep hearing depth , I'm gonna use linebackers , I thought Austin Smith was supposed to start. We trotted out Kenny Bynum. One series we had Bynum & Jumper both out there . Where's Cortez McDowell ? Not trying to bash either of the two, but you hear all of this in pre-season about how good certain players are but they never play. I think we will get it turned around. I'm just puzzled by what I see when I watch the tape. Compared to to what we hear all pre-season.

a lot of Fans think that freshmen will do great in the SEC and we know that isn't likely going to happen

CBJ has brought in a lot of talent, they need the time to develop them,a lot of players that are seeing playing time this year for the Vols, would be sitting on the bench as red shirt freshmen for other Teams in the SEC

and the Vols Fans are expecting to much from them, this early in the year,or so I think anyway,i do expect this Team will be much improved later this year

Fans have to remember that a lot of the players are learning on the job, without the benefit of a red shirt year

If I had know we were going to kick a FG when the ball is on the goal line, if I had known we wouldn't go for 2 when we were up 12 in the swamp, then I would've thought 7-5

I didn't realize how much Gaulden would be missed

Probably lost 2 of the top 5 defensive players and have got nothing from the WRs. Most real good teams don't experience a lot injuries. Those that do usually underachieve unless they have good depth at positions they have the injuries.

Let me take 3 key players from any team and I'd change their record dramatically.

What excuse do you have for those games getting to the point of "being in the bag"?

That is a biggie. Kid is a athlete and football player. When he went down, our defensive backfield took a huge hit IMO. Were are not yet deep enough at nickel to just roll out the next guy and not see a drop off. At some positions, yes. Not there tho.

I'm not the one making excuses. I don't know what kind of retarded question you are asking. I didn't type in riddles or speak in tongues. I will spell out what I said for you. N-o
