I think we would have made the SEC title game and the playoff.

We would have beat Georgia and Oklahoma. The candy game would have been for a slot in the SEC title game so our guys would have been locked in. I think some of our injured guys might have had more reason to get healthy a little quicker. We wouldn't have had opt outs for the bowl game and either would have hosted a home playoff game last week or prepping for the Sugar Bowl right now. We'd be talking about Heup being the coach of the year.

Gotta get us a good kicker in the portal or we probably lose an extra game or two next year as well.

Crazy how a dude that has about 8 snaps a game changed our season from national championship contender to MCB losers.

Need a kicker but still a team game. 4th and 6 on 28 yard line, down 38-30, UGA scores touchdown. Pick 6 vs Bama for potential 14 point swing. If this team got to the playoffs, with the way we've played the last two games, it could have been as embarrassing as last year vs OSU. Would be interesting to see stats, but D this year, along w/ Sunseri D rank among Vols worst ever, imo.

Nah, the way last year played out with the Ohio St drumming, the players probably would still have mailed it in. They just did it earlier, during the season this year.

Looks like we need a complete roster turnover. If CJH can’t fix that issue with a new roster, may very well need a coaching turnover as well.

To blame one player for the team's failure this year is just a lazy take on things. There was so much more going on. Do we need to open up the competition at kicker this off season? Absolutely we do. No one's job should be safe. The MCB was a microcosm of the season in general. Idk how anyone can look at the results and NOT come to the conclusion that this was just an average team.

Yesterday was more of the same: horrific defense, missed fg at clutch moment, and a catastrophic turnover on offense resulting in 6 for the bad guys. We saw it against Georgia, Oklahoma, and Bama.

We are who we are, I'm ready to move on to next year.

I understand things came down to FGs in a few games but this team was so far from competing that we would've gotten blown out to any good team toward the end of the season. This defense was a sieve. Think about it - we couldn't stop Illinois. Let's stop the if, ands and buts on McCoy and Gibson. The fact that we could lose 1 DE, 1LB, and 1 CB for the bowl game then look this bad on defense says a lot more about the opposite than how close we were to the most optimistic scenario.

didn't really matter we matched up poorly w/ all the playoff teams.thus new DC

You want him to pull a kicker out of his arse? What a stupid implication. He was the kicker this season. He didnt pan out. 95% of schools dont have a D1 solid kicker in the waiting. Low injury chance and a waste of a roster spot. Learn to make intelligent dedications before posting and embarrassing yourself.

Quit blaming one player for this. He didn't do it by himself. It's a team sport. Our defense sucked (couldn't tackle for beans), and Joey fumbled or threw picks at crucial moments. Not to mention stupid penalties. Ever consider that the nastiness exhibited in this board and elsewhere contributed to Maxwell's crisis of confidence? And I don't think we were natty contenders this year from the get go.

Dedications? What the **** are you babbling about? You know damn well I didn’t mean they were as deep as an NFL roster, but there are other kickers on the team. Heupel doesn’t need to pull them out of his “arse” dumb****.

Maybes its possible.. just maybe. He is the best kicker on the roster. Do me a favor and find out who our slotted back up kicker is. Then lets watch his tape together.
