If we go 10-2...

Florida and LSU will play. Book it.

So, we're back to the "Need Florida to lose a game thing"

It's got to be either LSU, UGA or Ark that beats them. We shall see.
Remember, we backed into the 2007 SECCG game... I bet Florida would love to return that favor.

I don't know how anybody wouldn't be happy with a 10-2 season. That puts us in a NY6 bowl game.

2007.... Didn't we tie GA in East with a OT win over KY but beat GA in the head-to-head to go to the SECCG?

10-2 and playing in Atlanta takes the program to a new level. Ended the UF streak and got our own streak going against UGA now.

This season was massive because it was a turning point for Jones and the Vols. Either we began a slow descent back towards mediocrity, or the momentum continued to build. So far it looks like the latter is happening.

A win on Saturday would be massive, but even with a loss, the team will be huge favorites to win out afterward and go 10-2. That makes recruits take notice and see that the uptick isn't just to be competitive in the East, but to win it. Butch can and will capitalize and keep Tennessee competitive for the foreseeable future.

My thoughts exactly.

would you be happy? If someone told me before the season began that Vols would be 10-2, I would have been ecstatic. Now...I, like everyone else wants UT to be in the playoffs and more.

We've had so many years of wandering in the wilderness, that I for one am enjoying what this team is doing.

GO VOLS! VFL

If we make the SEC Championship

10-2 is exactly what all the talking heads predicted for us this season so anything better is gravy especially the way injuries has played out.

You know, now that you mention it, I don't fully remember.

What i do remember however, is being at that game in the GA dome vs LSU and several Florida fans were in front of me in the concession line talking about how they should have been in the game and we backed into it.

i almost got into a fight :)

I always equate that year to us backing into the SECCG b/c of this rather vivid memory.

Sounds like salty Gator tears, though they are quite sweet, may have fogged your memory. :)

10-2 if we win the east would be a great season but kinda disappointing considering the A&M game. That said get me to Atlanta 11-1 Fighting for a playoff spot and I'll be ecstatic!

11-1 and looking back at the A& M loss thinking what might have been. Makes me puke thinking about it but I'll deal with it when the time comes, lol.

If we are 11-1 and win the SECG, we will be in the playoff. Don't know why you would be thinking "what might have been."

We beat Florida on their field. We didn't back into anything.

That'd mean most likely beating Alabama twice not saying it can't be done but beating a Saban coached team once in a season is hard enough!

The FLOOR for the Vols is a 10-2 regular season, SEC East Champions, and a trip to the SECCG. That's the FLOOR!

10-2 is progress, but honestly it will feel hollow if I have to watch Florida play in Atlanta.

For me, satisfaction will come only from getting to the SECCG. Otherwise 10-2 won't mean much to me.

In other words, if we go 9-3 but make the SECCG, that would make me more happy than going 10-2 and not going to Atlanta.
