If UT were to fire CPF today, as a lot of people are wanting, who would they hire? What HC is unemployed and looking for a job midway through the season? Lou Holtz maybe? I for one do not want Granny Clampett running around in orange calling people by the wrong name.

The only reasonable promotion to HC would be John Chavis, but I don't think he'll take the job at PF's expense.

And also Steve Spurrier wil NEVER be the HC at UT. I've seen a few posts about this today, but he'll never come to UT.

Lou Holtz cant stand us, let alone coach us. We stuck it to him everytime we played him. He only beat us at ND and he was their coach when we won at ND in 1991.

If CPF were to get fired, I would say lets go get Butch Davis.

Bobby Petrino is who we would hire, and he would build and Empire here. That being said I am glad CPF is around, and will be for a while.

To think that CPF is bigger than this program is just incorrect IMO.

There won't be any firing of Fulmer, and all the people that expected/hoped there would be had their heads in the clouds. The fallout from this season has happened. RS is gone as OC effective immediately, and from the press conference will be leaving UT at the end of the season. Washington and Stevens have been fired and Slade is retiring... all at the end of the season.

If a bull frog had wings he wouldn't bump his butt every time he went to jump...Fulmer is here to stay....You guys got what you wanted in Sanders getting the boot, now let's leave it where its at

I'm glad that Fulmer is here to stay. I think that changing AC's will help the offense pretty quickly.

Again, only an idiotic moron would want CPF fired. But hey from some of the posts on this board I think there are many - morons that is.

Serious question guys?
Majors was 28-9 his last 4 years before he was fired and replaced by Fulmer.
Fulmer in the last 4 years was 28-16 yet the OC gets canned.
Why is it the head coach fired in tne first instance yet the OC recently.
Is there a logical answer to this beside saying RS sucks. Does Fulmerhave some kindof pull or looked upon with some kind of fear. Or he just this lovable big guy that they just afraid to hurt his feelings.

exactly, he'll get a chance to turn it around with a new staff, and if he doesn't then we will all know that it is not the coaching staff, it is the head coach.
Personally I think he can turn it around with the right people on board

I think this is the turning point for us for next season, this season is lost in the high expectations of being ranked #3 in the country to start this season.....Next year will be the kind of year we're looking for....Lower ranked not much expected of us and then BOOM! there we are in there with anothe solid 11-2 or 10-3 year

If Fulmer were to get fired (even though he won't), the spoiled VOL fans would be begging for him to come back the next year.

Nah, most would probably move on to firing Bruce Pearl because he hasn't won any games yet as the Tennessee basketball coach. :banghead:

I keep hearing this but SOS has never said anything like that, he has been quoted as having "great respect" for the UT program, he is a viable candidate.

Let's see, SC or UT.

Wow, that's a tuffie.
