If we don't win Saturday....

A loss probably isn't going to do anything to change my perception of Dooley's overall ceiling here at UT. A win on the other hand could be the first step towards changing my mind.

^This

I dont think nobody wants to see Dooley fail but at the same time everybody is tired of seeing Tn lose. Its pretty simple win and he stays and lose and hes more than likely gone.Im talking about over the course of the year not just this game.

We will win Saturday, we can't even think about a loss, we can and will win. And that's how I'm approaching Saturday. No room for errors, play strong and hard four quarters long and I know we can pull out a win!!! GBO VFL!!!

The 2013 Defense is returning almost everyone, they will be one of the best in the conference. Even if Bray, Hunter and Patterson leave we have all the stud freshman WR's from the 2011 class to go with Worley or Peterman. And all but Dallas Thomas on the OL will be returning with all the RB's as well. The staff is going to land an elite RB this class, whether it's D. Henry or D. Green to go along with a JUCO WR and a few more JUCO's on D. Dooley won't be rebuilding, just reloading. We're much better than 6-6 in 2013, LWS. You're wrong.

Depressing thread is depressing, I'm out of here...enjoy your misery, folks :peace2:

no misery, just wanting to know more

When we win everyone stfu with the Dooley threads until the season is over? No matter what side you are on, it's win this year or bye bye. There's no further arguments that can be made that are new.

And?? I didn't think we would win, but I was glad to be proven wrong. So, don't be a prick, just to be one.

And don't start dumb threads just to post your drivel. When you posted this, what did you think 90% of the answers would be? It's your same argument all offseason just stated differently.

Can't consistently win with juco players.

You just need one or 2 in areas of need. Like CP this year. Yes it would be nice he was here 2 but hopefully by seasons end the freshmen are seeing snaps rather than right now.

I agree with others we will have a solid D next year. Everytime you lose your QB you'll usually have some worrying to do. Heck SC was worried about losing Garcia and FTR did pretty well with him. Our key is getting a damned good back. They make up for a lot especially in this conference.

Losing to the Gators at Neyland when we're ranked, favored and fairly evenly matched will be hard to get past. It's a must-win, IMO. The SEC slate kicks in afterward, and we have a hard October and are likely to take some lumps with UGA and Bama, maybe SCAR. If we don't play them tough and close, the fanbase will sour quickly. Suck it up, beat the Gators and Dooley will get another year to continue the relentless pursuit of continuous improvement.

I just wanted to see what other people would say. You're reading way too much into this, and are taking this place way too seriously. Loosen up, and just discuss things without having a chip on your proverbial message board shoulder.

but, don't you love it,when the Mighty Vols win ?

Every Vol fan does. It's what we all want, and desire to have, a competitive team that can take care of business each Saturday. There are still questions to be answered, and we will get some of those Saturday, but I'm good with where we are to this point. Got to prove we belong in the Top 25 Saturday, especially in the national spotlight.

Eric, you blew the score differential of that game by 24 points. I'd say that's worth a solid 6 weeks of prickiness in reminding you of that fact.

I like DD but assuming no crazy calamity to key players he's got to get the W. Or he never will and I think we all know that somewhere inside. He's had very tough breaks in his tenure and some missteps too but the stars are all but aligned for him to get his win and build from there.

When has FL ever had a head knocker that left them banged up before rolling into Neyland? While at the same time we had the cupcake to rest our guys?
When has FL had less overall talent on the offensive side of the ball?
When has FL not had a NC winning coach?
Did I mention it's at Neyland, we're ranked and the fan base is out of it's malaise?

It's laid out there for himself and the team and he has to close this deal.

And?? I missed the UT/GA ST game by 3 points. I didn't know what kind of team we had, especially after last season. I went with how I felt both times, and glad I was proven wrong on the NCST game. People want to remind me about it, then they should take their own advice and move on, just like they tell me to, right?? Or is that just for certain posters??

i really wouldn't like to go through each day thinking like some posters. I am excited about the game. I can't wait. I can't wait to tailgate. I look forward to the energy.

Contemplating a possible loss and if it will mean I think or don't think DD can get it done is as far from my thought process as possible. Just as the ky game, one game won't make my mind up.

All I know is what I see on the field in skill positions, in the trenches and on the sidelines with ever increasing depth, and better teachers of football on the staff than we have had in years. That's good enough for me to be confident in where the program is now, compared to where we have been the last few years. The rest will work itself out.

This.

Right freaking on.

GBO

Section 3.4-c2 of the Volnation Code clearly states that all rules regarding harassment shall be waived when said target is a poster that picked us to lose and blew the score differential by 24 points.

:eek:lol:

Good stuff man. I can take being reminded of things. Been here too long, and got too thick of skin now.

Boom! Now back to celebrating the win we don't have yet but we better.
