If we don't win Saturday....

Actually would depend on how they lose. If they get down early and just give up in the 3rd and 4th quarter and mail it in, then I'm going to seriously question Dools. If they fight their guts out and the ball just doesn't bounce the right way then I will show Dools some grace.

How can they spin a moral victory, and dropping the 8th straight to a down UF team?? I don't see how you can take anything positive out of a loss Saturday.

Yes, and mainly because they've got the same S&C coach for the 3rd year straight, and the team should be great on defense next year, if our LB depth can be progressed. We may not score as many points, but the defense will help out. I also say this because I think they land Derrick Henry, and if they don't land him, then I'll be more inclined to go with your thought process.

don't have enough players and if you are depending on in coming class to ge them to 8 wins, you are back to CDD's first year.. which I don't think was 8 wins.

PS, forget Henry.. capstone bound..

You think he goes to Bama, even after they took Scarborough this past week??

I didn't say I would glean anything positive from it. Just wouldn't come after Dools with pitchforks and torches if the team plays hard for 60 minutes.

i figure any incoming class is a year or two away from being able to do any good, this is what CDD has taken on,i give him credit for strapping on the head coach of UT,when it has been down so bad

oh, I think it is huge on CDD's future, no doubt. Lose Saturday, you are looking at sub 500 record in conference and any support he has gone, very likley.

but winning is fools gold for the short term. next year will not be pretty because best players will be gone.

So you are sayin he's damned if does, and damned if he doesn't. That is rich.

Will you still have faith that Dooley can get it done??

No. And the only reason I say that is because Florida is beatable. This might be one of the only times that I personally can say, we should easily beat Florida. If Dooley can't beat a team that is still learning then I don't know if he can even beat Kentucky again. In my eyes he still has a lot to prove. I want him to be succesfull and stay here a long time, but unless he beats Florida, I don't see it happening.

not necessarily. depends on recruiting this class and nextg few for the longer term. I just believe, no matter how this year ends up, next year will not be as good. now 2014 might indicate longer term success. depends on recruiting...

You do realize that the Defense will be LOADED next year..right? We might have to do it the hard way but we should win some games. I also have faith the young WRS and QBs will put a few pts on the board......I...hope?

so if they go 10-2 and the 4 above players leave for NFL, you believe the returning players and staff can get to 8 wins?

Yes, it will be a different team, but still a good team. We return at minimum six of our front seven (possibly all if Lathers gets a sixth year). Included in that front seven will be a dline that is in the top tier of the sec with a third year couch, second year Sentimore and McCullers, and some quality depth brought by the freshman that are redshirting this year. Also includedin that front seven are Maggit and Johnson as juniors. In the defensive backfield we'll have both safeties back, and Coleman and Bonner will be solid corners for us in their second year under Ansley. Plus we will be in the second year of Sal's scheme and should see a big step forward on defense.

On offense we will take a step back, but I don't see it being a big enough step back for us to lose four more games than we did the previous year. Especially when you consider this offense will have an improved defense and not need the shutout. At Wr wehad the top class in the country last year and players like croom and Bowles to step up alongside CP. James is a player that will be tough to replace, but we will have Tiny and Marcus jackson on the left side which will be good for our running game. Also will return Stone and Fulton. Not sure who will replace James, Bullard has seen snaps there as well as Kerbyson, but I feel like they will atleast be competent. At running back, all three of our running backs will be in their second year under CJG, which can only be a good thing for them. At QB, we won't replace Bray, but Peterman is spoken very highly of by people around the program.

The 2013 Defense is returning almost everyone, they will be one of the best in the conference. Even if Bray, Hunter and Patterson leave we have all the stud freshman WR's from the 2011 class to go with Worley or Peterman. And all but Dallas Thomas on the OL will be returning with all the RB's as well. The staff is going to land an elite RB this class, whether it's D. Henry or D. Green to go along with a JUCO WR and a few more JUCO's on D. Dooley won't be rebuilding, just reloading. We're much better than 6-6 in 2013, LWS. You're wrong.

Depressing thread is depressing, I'm out of here...enjoy your misery, folks :peace2:

That is ridiculous! Almost the entire D is back, the freshmen become sophomores, the WRs still will be plenty talented, we will have 3 sec caliber QBs, key pieces of the o-line will be back regardless if James goes pro, and we will have another haul of key JUCO guys.
