Knowing what we know now would you still hire Dooley?

I'm asking because I think he needs time and some don't want to be patient. However, what say you to the question>

I like the guy, but let's be honest. There were better options out there. Hopefully we found a diamond in the rough.

I wasn't too excited about Dooley when he was hired but I really think he was a good choice now. He tells it like it is and will keep us out of trouble (NCAA at least!)... and given some time we will see if he can coach (we are too thin in spots to even make that determination for now). I think he definitely has the potential to be the coach we need to get things turned around.

I like Dooley, but I can't figure out why. I like that he is coaching them to compete hard. I like that he is trying to implement programs to help them to win at life. I like that he is a "personality" (in a good way as opposed to our last guy). I don't like how he seems to, for lack of a better word, belittles a few of his players. Hindsight is 20/20 though; we are where we are at. I think DD will get us back on track. Go VOLS!

It is nice to see that most of Volnation is pleased with CDD at this point. It seems that those that were unhappy with the hire are at least content at this point. There still is a long way to go but at this point we have a team that COULD (?) win most any of the games left if they play great games. I too think that CDD is the coach to turn the program around, but it will take time. Not sure the other potential hires would have fit in like CDD has.

I would have been fine with them doing whatever it takes to get Peterson out of BSU. Given the circumstances though, Dooley wasn't a bad hire.

I also am not quite sure why Hamilton didn't look at a couple NFL coordinators like Mike Zimmer and Brain Schottenheimer.

man yall are full of it when we need a coach he was the only one who woulld take it because the only thing he has was a ob at la tech so, no one else wanted it, regardless he took on a hugh task so to me that says alot about who he is as a man and coach. so i say GO DOOLEY!!!!!

I think Sumlin is the only coach we had a realistic shot of getting that could be a better hire.

Never leave Tampa/Pittsburgh respectively.

News flash Gruden has not been in Tampa in 2 yrs. He is doing Monday night football. But that being said Only guy i would have wanted to coach the Vols is Gruden. Dooley will do just fine give him time. Just a note how fans are i was listning to the Paul Finebaum show the other day and they were complaining about Alabama O cord. Finebaum said he has been at Alabame for 2 yrs and 4 games and has not lost a regular season game. So even when you win fans still find something wrong.
