I was there with my wife and 5 kids and more cheering the Vols on. Down 21-10 after scoring 10 in the 2nd quarter didn’t feel like 40 or 60 but if keep adding more to the delta makes you happy, go for it. Getting to the playoffs is better than not for recruiting too, regardless of the outcome.

Then there is a world where that could happen: this one.

Everybody knew, or should have known, that when the field expanded to 12, there would be a scenario in which a 3-loss team would get in.

the top 4 teams in the SEC (A&M, Bama, UGA and Ole Miss) do not play any of the other three.. They are almost cinched to be the 4 SEC teams in the CFP barring a big upset.

UGA has Texas in Athens which is their last SEC game..

A&M has Texas on the road which is a real chance for upset which would be their first loss likely..

Not sure much chance for Bama or Ole Miss to get beat but its possible...

So a fifth SEC team with best chance to get in top 4 is Texas and likely only team with a chance at being the fifth team.

UT wins out, they will not be able to climb to 12th and that likely would not get them in either... Would definitely need to be higher for a chance..

Kind of how it looks like it plays out....

Please. No playoff this year.

If you thought the blowout loss to OSU was bad, whoever we would play this year may be up by that score just at half time.

Try to win out and salvage what’s left of the season at this point.

I understand anything can happen on any given Saturday. That said, our body of work, our first game would be as bad as last year, if not worse. I love Tennessee, but we made Kentucky look like a high powered offense. We'd get boatcraced against a playoff team, even the ones we've played have improved, while we've went backwards. Just enjoy the rest of the season, and hope for better next year.

in the SEC:

Texas could lose 2 of its last 3 easily: UGA, ARK, A&M....would put them at 4 losses
Oklahoma could lose 2 of its last three: Bama, Mizzou, LSU......four losses
Ole Miss still has UF and Miss St: lose both that's three losses

we win out, we'd likely be SEC #4 or split with Ole Miss for the fourth spot and rise in the rankings. so as of this immediate moment the CFB Playoffs aren't completely off the table for our VOLS! it is a long shot!

There’s a slim chance, but still a chance. Obviously gotta win out and hope for absolute carnage in front of us. Virginia just lost to Wake Forest at 🏡 Washington lost to Wisconsin on the road. Indiana and Oregon won by the skin of their teeth.

We lost our margin of error when we lost to UGA imo. We should’ve won that game 😡

Just want to see this team 🔒 in and handle business. 9-3 is a really good season considering the adversity this group has faced.

I want to be hopeful but after watching this team all year, there is no way in hell we are winning out. This team is not a playoff caliber team. I love the Vols but it's the truth.
