If we beat Cincinnati..

Hahahaha

You read three preseason mags? Alright there Colin Cowherd. I won't disagree with you that UC's offense is ahead of their defense but you honestly believe just because UT plays in the SEC they will beat UC? I'm not arguing the SEC is the best conference in College Football- because it is. And I'm not arguing that the Big East is a large step behind- because it is. But in this match up, I believe that anyone that looks at it objectively will see that UT should be a SLIGHT favorite and nothing more.

Hey troll I didnt make a prediction.Somebody earlier asked what had anybody heard about UCs defense an I told them.I wasnt bashing UC but I will now...The only thing that will prevent our offense from hanging 60 on your soft reject laden defense will be a rain shortened game like Michigan had.Go back to your own board and brag about beating the school for the def and blind that you panzies played last week.

No. He's the back up QB. He's from New Orleans, thus the last name. We basically have two back up QB's as Jordan Luallen, a transfer from Georgia Tech is also right there and UC has a "Wildcat" type package they will run with him that presents a run/pass option.

Is Munchie a common name in Louisiana?

CBS Sports ranks their rush defense as 50th and their pass defense as 30th.

But I'm not sure what that is based on. If it's based on their first game that isn't saying much. They played Austin Peay.

We should know who Munchie is. There was a huge debate over whether or not we should offer him.

we know who Munchie is since he was recruited by UT for a short time

Dude the Big East is not the SEC.I watched a few of UCs games last year including that debacle against Pitt.I watched the gam the other night when UC played that high school team.I read three preseason mags.I think UC has a fast high paced offense and an overmatched defense.

Dude, your offense scored 35 on an FCS team whose defense last year gave up 24 a game to 10 FCS teams. The UT put the ball on the ground 6 times. They were lucky to recover them all.

You did this at home.

Is the Big East the SEC? Not by a long shot. Everybody knows that the SEC is the best conference in college football. But this is not the SEC vs. the Big East. It's Cincinnati vs. Tennessee.

I am not surprised at the descriptions of the UC defense in the magazines you read. I looked at several myself. They aren't going to opine on anything that they haven't seen empirical evidence for. And there isn't much evidence to look at.

UC has a lot of questions about it's defense. Everyone recognizes that the defense was weak last year. We think a lot of our issues were caused by depth and injury. As I indicated, our starting D-line and LBs played way too many snaps last year. We had injury problems at the back as well.

We think some of those holes are plugged. But we're not sure. Our game last week didn't tell us much. But it did let us get game experience for a lot of our young subs, especially the D-line and LB subs.

Our questions will get some better answers Saturday. But I promise you this: if UT puts the ball on the ground 6 times against UC the way they did against Montana last week, Cincinnati will win the football game. UC forced 3 fumbles last week and recovered every one. What do think happens Saturday if Tennessee give the UC offense three extra possessions?

It was only 14 pts (two TDs and the safety)

I agree, if UC wins the TO battle, they will win the game. We got some really lucky bounces.

I am also glad you have not resigned to blame the refs if Tenn does win. I think this game will come down to who has the ball last.

If they'd played their own walk ons instead of AP we'd have a better idea of how good they are.
Tn wins BIG.
Poole 165 yards.

Actually, it was 16 points.

The offensive playcalling was extremely vanilla and CDD isn't the type to hang 72 points on anyone. I would be surprised if they ran 10% of the playbook since there was no need.

I wouldn't be expecting us to be turn the ball over like that again. Not only was it wet from the storm but it was also the first game.

Neither team or fanbase for that matter really know how good they are right now. Last week was more tuning and finding out weaknesses than anything else. We'll know more come this Saturday.

We are in much the same boat. I have commented abouyt the defense already. Our O-line is still a question mark. Can they protect Collaros well enough to let him do his thing? We will see.

Both teams will know a lot more about their teams come Saturday night.

They will lose to UT by 3 touchdowns instead of 6.

It should definitely be a good game. I don't know enough about Cincy to really comment on how good or bad they are. Looking at the box score from the AP game, most of the damage was done on the ground. If I had to guess, we'll make it a point to stop the run and force you guys to pass.

I'm curious to see how you guys will defend us. Montana's approach was to stop the run at all cost and that left the passing game wide open. If you guys stack the box with 9-10 guys like Montana did I would expect the same.

Except I doubt this time we will insist on running into that wall.

We'll unleash Touchdown Tyler.
