If we are going to face facts, we need to admit that

Heupel is a winner. Does he make some head scratching and frustrating decisions? Sure. Overall, though I have been happy with the job he has done. How many times under previous coaches would we have lost a game like yesterday where we weren't playing well? Is Heupel championship material? We will see, but you can not deny the job that he has done and how he has resurrected our proud program.

Heupel is a championship coach in hand cuffs. Until our DB's learn to look back for the ball we will never take the step next level. What was it yesterday 7 false starts? and we're halfway thru the season. Our high school team had 2 in 2 games geez!

The leading rusher for bama against Missouri today was 85 yards. Simpson threw for 200yards. Missouri threw 2 interceptions. Went 1/10 on 3rd down and still had a chance to win and ended up losing by a FG.

Don’t put Bama on a pedestal this isn’t 2009,2015, or 2020.
Not to mention Bama getting blasted by a 0-3 ACC team

This is year 9 with Willie Martinez as DB coach, and it is the 9th year of his DBs not looking for the ball. He coaches them not to. He needs to go, and it’s a red flag of Heupel’s that we still have to deal with him.

LOL our DBs looked back for the ball at times, including a great stop in the end zone...False starts are dumb but your high school team comparison doesn't hold unless they are playing against SEC talent in front of 100k

Other SEC teams come into Neyland and get penalized less than us. It’s not “playing against SEC talent in front of 100k,” it’s a built in feature of a Josh Heupel team.

People said the same thing about Ryan Day when he lost to Michigan last year.

Heupel has shown the ability to adapt, relying on defense last year rather than offense.

Also, coaches and players seem to love working and playing for him.

Some of y'all need to chill the heck out and learn how to be happy after a victory rather than nitpicking. Look what happened when UCLA fired their coach, they received a tremendous boost in their interim coach. We beat Arkansas so chill out everybody.

It’s Heupel’s fault that his teams get penalized so many times year after year.
When you have the fastest offense in the country you are going to have some false start and procedure penalties...

I will trade 5 false starts a game for 40 plus points. It still doesnt account for why for a decade Tennessee has had the worst whistle of any SEC team by the refs, including at home

Every team thinks the refs screw them. Our team indisputably screws itself with penalties more than any other.

If you think if we would've gotten the calls that Georgia got at Auburn last night, whether in Neyland or not, you are insane.

But yes OUR penalties (when real) are on us. but it's always funny how the last decade, teams have their fewest penalties of the season playing us...and that's a consistent thing

Sounds like Auburn got screwed, so it’s not like we are exclusively being targeted. The refs don’t just favor Arkansas for some weird reason.

So you didn't see the 2 missed PIs, the 4 missed holding calls (2 on arky's scores), the personal foul to the face not called, and the BS offsides turned false start calls?

No one is saying the refs "favor" Arkansas, but consistently they are terrible against Tennessee, likely because they want to punish CJH for having to run so much on offense...although incompetence is a slow 2nd

Don't you get tired of posting the same drivel every single week?

I don't respond to this NegaVol troll. IF in fact he actually is a UT fan then he is the most insufferable miserable bastard in our fanbase. He does post the exact same drivel every week. His post history is nothing but crapping on the team or whining about this or that. The only correct take he has ever had was when he chose his screen name. Misery loves company though...

We have to admit that 2025 Tennessee is not very good despite how great Aguilar has been. Defense just doesn't show up consistently and running game hasn't been very strong.

Despite that, Heupel has us at 5-1. Heupel isn't the problem at all, we need to be patient with him. He represents University well.

This team can be a little rough and hard to watch at times, I feel it. The 3rd and long pass play give ups.on defenses or the atrocious time penalties at key points on offense make you want to turn the game off.

Worst refs I have ever seen in person. Total jackmove by that crew which amazingly we were still able to win despite their 10 to 1 disparity in flags.
