Yep. Good chance if things don’t work out with the Giants he will take a position elsewhere, even if it’s an assistant coach. Usually once guys hit the majors they don’t want to come back. If it doesn’t work out as a manager they go to another club and develop themselves and try to be a manager again.

Plus as @NorCalVol67 told us, Giants just named Bruce Brochy as a Special Assistant. Bochy will be a great mentor for CTV. Plus, CTV just hired former Padres Manager Jayce Tingler to his staff. Tingler has served as the Twins Bench Coach for the last 4 years and is close friends with CTV from their time at Missouri together. CTV seems to be putting together a great coaching staff.

I think we should cheer for Tony to at least have some success. If he completely bombs, he may have to come back to the college game and that would be bad for Tennessee. But if he has some success and then gets fired after three years, he probably enters that MLB manager recycling program.
