What about Larry Scott for HC, Gillespie for OC, Hoke or Chavis for DC, and fill in the rest of the staff from there. I know when a coach is fired that typically means his staff goes too. I don't think the administration at UT will ever spend a lot for a splash hire. So the next best thing would be to just promote current staff and keep some form of consistency. I really like what I have seen with Scott's vanilla offense so far. I think Gillespie is a great coach, and move Hoke to DC or beg Chavis to come back.

I just wrote Bob Stoops a letter asking if he's bored yet and if he knows about TN not having state income taxes.

Miami didn't want Larry Scott as their permanent head coach, why should we? Brady Hoke has been a defensive coordinator for exactly one year in his career. he produced one of the worst defenses in the country, so no thanks. Gillespie has been a very good position coach, doesn't mean that he'd be a good coordinator.

Chavis's defense gave up 35 unanswered in almost a quarter to UCLA a few weeks ago . Not sure that's the guy anymore. I was real high on him myself at one point a few years back hoping he'd someday return to UT. Along Cutcliff as offensive coordinator...

If Butch got fired this year, you're advocating for Larry Scott who couldn't keep the job at Miami and pass up on Chip Kelly?
