.....they'll take a look at how a less talented Michigan team defeated Tebow and company in the Capital One bowl a couple years ago.

Tennessee needs to put a hat on Tebow every play possible. Run through him. While I usually don't promote dirty play, it wouldn't hurt the Vols to get a late hit on Tebow early in the game. Let him know that regardless of the score, he's gonna pay.

If people think Tebow cannot be rattled, they're mistaken. He likes delivering the blows, but like all other QB's, he does not like receiving them.

I did not see the Ole Miss game last year, not sure if they took Tebow out of his rythm. All I'm saying is it can happen. Tennessee ain't going down there to shine their championship trophys. They're not going down there to get Tebow's autograph. They must go down there with the mindset of kicking butt.

Good luck, Vols!

Yes, when he is pressured he gets rattled. He makes bad decisions when there is pressure. See Michigan/Ole Miss.

Tebow is not the most talented passer in the game and if we force him to throw the ball most of the game then we will have a chance with our Defense...Only issue is if they pick Crompton off and get the ball inside our 40 then it will be a little easier...if we make them put up drives to score and we try and win the field position game all day then no way they put up a bunch of points on us..
But we have to EXECUTE in every aspect of our game...
But again Florida has had some turnovers early this year and if we get some good field position it could be a real good game...

the D has to go down there knowing that they are the only way we're going to win the game. if im monte im pulling out all stops. blitzing 75% of the time, sending safeties, corners, stunting the d line all of it. if we're going to win we have to keep the return game in check, somehow hold on to the ball for atleast 35 mins, and turn them over 3 or 4 times (one preferably returned for a TD).

IT CAN BE DONE!!

Keep your heads up boys you can do this! GO VOLS!!

They just need a "clean" late hit. Don't go to the knees or the head. They just need an early message to Mr. Tebow.

I was talking more of a on the bottom of a pile thumbing eyes, taking an elbow to the stomach, getting up with all your weight on you knee which is in a dude's back. Anyone who has played any level of football in a heated game knows this goes on.

Kind of like in baseball when you have a fast runner on first and you throw over 3 times in a row and let your first baseman rip his back up with some overly aggressive tags. If he gets lucky; his jaw.

that florida team was 9-4 with a bunch for freshman on defense. That Michigan team was not less talented than current Vols - QB Chad Henne, Jake Long (number 1 draft pick), Mike Hart + a bunch of draftees on defense. Veteran team 9 win team playing in the final game for the their coach Loyd Carr. Very different than our situation - going to the swamp with shattered confidence.

Who had more talent last year between Ole Miss and Florida?

Michigan played agressive defense and hit hard. That's what the Vols need to do.

i agree. But i still don't see JC busting out like Jevan Snead. Urban has already made it clear that we are a running team. Expect 10 stud defenders in the box led by Spikes. I CLK has some passing gameplans..

Knocking the **** out of Tebow won't get you anything but a headache and typically leave a gigantic gap in the defense if you scheme to hit him.

The key to beating Florida is all about showing exceptional discipline, a single blown assignment on any play can result in giving up 20+ yards... but if everyone knows their assignment, and Monte Kiffin is able to redirect the flow of Florida's read based offense to wherever he wants then we can force 3 and outs and win the field position game. If we can force their quarkbacks into scrums, we can expect to force a few fumbles.

The matchup that scares me is with Janzen Jackson at FS... it's going to take one of the best games I have ever seen from a freshman to limit Tebow's ability to go over the top at will.

If you think Tebow gets rattled when pressured, wait til you see Crompton. :post-4-1090547912: JC will lose this game for us. Bank on it.

I can assure you that Monte has been planning for this game since he signed on. Watch for EB to play close to line of scrimmage - on Tebow and Hernandez (dangerous overlooked weapon). I don't think their receivers are that great. Its about getting Demps / Rainey / Tebow / Hernandez. Will need Reveiz to play out of his head. I think he can.

I think putting JC in is akin to giving up. That's what bothers me. I bought into Lane's swagger. Let's take on the Gators. But lets do it with a non-defeatist player

I say we run the ball every single possession and my even bring the Nu Gun. I wouldn't let Crompton throw a forward pass. If he throws the ball its almost a guaranteed interception.

honestly, i would rather have Nu-gun all game than suffer the inadequacies of QB that we are afraid to let push the ball fwd. Why play him? Again, it feels like we are quitting on this game. We have a chance.

Stop having Crompton throw out patterns to where the DB can cut the route...

Have him throw screens, short/deep passes in the middle of the field, and occasional deep ball for once. Use the Nuke package and maybe throw in the double reverse pass with Teague.

If Tennessee wants to beat Florida this year the first thing that ALL of them should put into their head is that THEY CAN BEAT THEM... if they don't all do that then it's over before it begins. In your mind is where it first starts and then go out there and just do it.

If Tennessee wants to win Sat. they better be prepared to play in the rain. I live in Tampa and the forcast is for rain all week.

What about some short slant routes? Easy throws and a way to get the ball in playmakers hands while they on the move.

Take out teblows knee. Even after the play. But really if its raining real bad that would be good make it a ground game. But in my eyes it does not matter we are rebuilding.
