If the Vols beat Bama does Dooley lock down his job for another year? Easily?

How in the world are we gonna beat #1 Alabama when we can't beat MSU, FL, and GA? :eek:lol:
This same type of post was posted at the University of Louisiana-Monroe board too. Just before they drubbed #8 Arkansas.

This same type of post was posted at the NC State board too. Just before they smacked #3 Florida State.

This same type of post was posted at the Texas Tech board too. Just before they obliterated #5 West Virigina.

My odds of winning the lottery are better than this team beating Bama. The Bama team is the real deal. They will choke Tyler up quickly.

Their backups can beat us. You really think we have a chance. I see Lacey and Yeldon running wild. Then Lattimore the next week. And Bray will be hit these next two games. alot

I agree. The back ups may very well be able to beat us. I also see Lacey and Yeldon running wild. Then Lattimore the next week. And I agree that most likely Bray will be hit these next two weeks. But if you take that attitude and say, "well crap..we're beat," then you never beat anybody. You know that. So do I think we have a big chance to beat them? Absolutely not. But do we have a chance? Absolutely. However small it may be.

When running spreads I "think" the oddsmakers run probabilities. Within those probabilities are always statistics calculating how often the underdog could win. In Tennessee's case I'd guess, seeing as we're a 19.5 point underdog, that those possibilities are miniscule but they do exist.

Auburn was a 20 point dog to LSU and played them to a 12-10 loss. Colorado was a 20 point dog to Washington State a couple of weeks ago and beat them. 30 point underdog Louisiana-Monroe beat Arkansas with they were #8 so it's not impossible...just not probable.

If Derek Dooley levitates above Neyland Stadium, while throwing gold flakes down upon the crowd, while C and C Music Factory's 'Gonna Make You Sweat' blasts out from his wheelchair's sound system, does he keep his job?

At this point, that sounds just as plausible as us beating Bama.

C and C music factory? Class of '96? :)

I think alot of us have simply forgotten what it feels like to beat bama...or florida...or anyone good. It would certainly convince many average-joe type fans that he should stay, but most people would still know that we're going nowhere...unless he whoops spurrier as well.

If he beats Bama and wins out including a bowl game I guess he could end up here another year. Hell, he may even deserve it at that point because the turn around this team would need to make for that to happen would be monumental.
