If the SEC were to add four more teams, who would you want to see join the league?

Their basketball is pretty good plus I wouldn’t mind beating their butts in football more often. Could be a good potential rival for us.
Not really. 6 tourney appearances since 2010 isn't good.

I would have went with a football argument first. Even then, it's the ACC

I think its about growing TV markets similar to the B1G I would go with the following.

North Carolina
Kansas
Iowa St
Clemson

I know Clemson wouldnt give the conference more markets but I think this would lock the SEC in as the premier football, basketball, and baseball conference regardless of what other conferences do.

I think there will be a large national super league before SEC expands that many teams. But since we are just speculating what would be interesting:

UNC
Notre Dame
Florida State
Clemson.

For me, it'd be:

UNC
NC State
Va Tech
FSU -or- Clemson -or- Ga Tech (none of these gets us into new markets, but all fit the culture and existing footprint nicely)

I really like the idea of expanding the SEC into North Carolina and Virginia. I think we absolutely belong in both those states.

Go Vols!
I would stay out of both NC and VA as they are both good recruiting areas for TN.
GT (historical member)
FSU (steal some recruits from Gators)
Clemson (instate comp for usc)
Tulane(hit LSU in their own backyard and a former member)

Buckle UP Buttercups its inevitable just a question of when. I get your argument, SEC is big enough and its not the SEC anymore yada yada yada. When they expand they need to be selective and go after the best options. And by that I mean not taking in teams like Mizzou. Ultimately your opinion doesn't matter and mine doesn't either but here it is.

1. VaTech
2. Clemson
3. Miami
4. Free Shoes University

UNC and Duke would be cool too taking basketball into account. NC state and Wake Forest would be like adding MSstate 2.0 and Vanderbilt Jr.
Nobody cares about UVA and no WVA for obvious reasons "if youve been to WV you know". GAtech had their chance and left. Louisville, OKstate, Texas Tech, meh no thanks.... Screw Tiger High

Let's keep it "SE", since in theory it's still the SEC.

UNC, NCST, FSU, UCF. Laugh away. Miami is...well, Miami.

Never liked the addition of Arkansas and Mizzou. Still don't. No one considers anything west of the Mississippi to be "southeast". Texas, TXAM, and OU a laugher. All about the media market. Where were they gonna go, the Big 10/12/16? And who would care? Oh, ESPN.

There were better options in the actual southeast.

Bottom line: the last 5 additions were anything but "Southeast". And why I'm against UVA and VT. Too close to DC for my comfort. WVU too far north.

The SEC stopped being the "SEC" years back. It is what it is. Now it's all about the media market, which is pronounced "money".

Any decent college teams in Canada or Great Britain? Hell, let's go global. Somebody's up at 3 AM, right?

I'll see myself out...
