If the SEC were to add four more teams, who would you want to see join the league?

For me, it'd be:

UNC
NC State
Va Tech
FSU -or- Clemson -or- Ga Tech (none of these gets us into new markets, but all fit the culture and existing footprint nicely)

I really like the idea of expanding the SEC into North Carolina and Virginia. I think we absolutely belong in both those states.

Go Vols!

If you are going to expand into North Carolina, then I don't see a point in wasting time with NC State. Go get UNC and Duke. Then, expand into Virginia and get UVA. Top it off with Clemson if they want in or Va Tech if Clemson doesn't want it.

I think VA Tech is much better and cooler team to add than UVA.

Perhaps, but they have been so bad at football here lately that I am not sure who is a better school to add. I feel like Virginia would make smarter decisions and be more competitive, but just because I feel that way does not make it true.

Of the ACC schools, Va Tech, NC State, Clemson and FSU fit the SEC culturally. UNC, Duke, UVA and Miami are more closely aligned w/ the Big 10.

I truly hope that the ACC can figure something out. I grew up in the heart of ACC country and it would truly be a shame to see a historically great conference go by the wayside. I’m gonna have a real hard time figuring out how Duke, Carolina and State aren’t going to be in the same conference when they’re all within 25 minutes of each other .

VATech vs UVA is a tough choice. VATech is really as bad as they have been in 35 years and not looking better. UVA has money and their audience has money. They are the real demographic of viewers advertisers want to reach. Not VATech fans and viewers. I don't give a crap about VT's culture being a fir for the SEC. It isn't. Mizzou peaked around the time they joined the conference. The SEC East was down across the board and it made Mizzou look like they belonged. aTm fit in very well, I thought. Johnny Manziel came at just the correct time for them.

I have been saying Clemson is redundant because of overlap with USCe, but they have good ratings. I may be wrong. Clemson could work well.
FSU brings nothing to increase a TV deal. UF delivers those same TV viewers as FSU and Miami.

I still say we need 2 of the NC teams if we have to expand. The Tarheels and Duke/NCSt (Duke may have the edge due to basketball will increase the value of any TV deal for the SEC. Duke's CFB is on pare with MSSt

I say Clemson, UVA, and 2 North Carolina schools make perfect sense for the SEC if expansion is forced on us. I really hope expansion cools down and is off the table in the future.

Just off the top....Clemson...UNC...West Virginia and Virginia (mostly for basketball). Kick out Mizzou and add Georgia Tech. To hell with FSU and Miami.

Edit....JMO and not the opinions of other board members that this will upset and piss off. 😆

Clemson, Georgia Tech, Florida State, and Oklahoma State. Bring over some arch rivals.

5th place goes to Louisville.

Wouldn’t want UNC without Duke. Don’t want Virginia without Virginia Tech.
