If Tennesseee hires Mike Leach tomorrow... [bring him home Currie]

If Currie doesn't hire the Pirate, he should be keelhauled and hanged from the nearest yardarm in the Vol Navy. AAaaaargh!

I believe it was francois l'ollonaise, who devised this cool torture trick...

He'd cut a small slit in a man's belly, use a hook to fish out a loop of intestine, then tie, or fasten that loop to a tree or mast or otherwise immovable object. Then he'd take a flaming brand (book said brand rather than torch, brand sounds more piratey) or hot poker and chase the man around till he ran out of intestinal leash.

It's a neat way to disembowel someone. The French pirates were especially brutal.

This would be Curries punishment if Leach aint introduced SOON.

See there...SOON.

I'm going to be one of the biggest Mike Leach homers you've ever seen. He's a brilliant offensive mind and with the right staff and the talent we can recruit to Tennessee, the sky is the limit.

The press conferences will be legendary. No Butch Jones coach speak out of this guy.

Currie, don't screw this up. Please.

Pirates for Life!

Make it happen.

I've got that feeling that I use to have a kid the night before Christmas........

All I want for Christmas is Mike Leach coaching the Vols!

It will be a Pirates Life for Me!

Im way to far ahead on the optimistic train at this point but I wonder what our QB situation would look like under Leach.

Amen. If you see half-eaten cookies at some point tonight, be sure to let me know.

I think both Dormady and McBride could thrive. Would also love to see Josh Smith in his offense.. too bad Leach is a year late for that.

You have to take into context where someone is coaching at some point.

The ceiling at Texas Tech and Washington State is different than at Tennessee.

No different than being successful at Vandy/Miss State or Kentucky. If a coach got Kentucky to 11-2 and they beat Alabama but Alabama won the SEC Title and NC that year, he'd be deemed one of the greatest coaches of all time.

Great coaches still win. Urban Meyer was clearly a major talent when going undefeated at Utah. Chris Peterson the same at Boise State. Leach has good teams, but always has some astronomical beat down in his big games. I would like to have a coach who's won something before getting the job here.

I'm not excited. I'm not furious, like I was for Jones, but it is a wait and see approach with a healthy dose of skepticism.

Mike leach beat a Texas team lead by Brain Orakpo and Earl Thomas . Also had Graham Harrel out dueling Colt McCoy

There's no question that we'd have a quarterback who thrives. No question.

McBride has those Texas ties...

That's cool. Do what you gotta do. The way this search has gone, we'll probably be talking about someone else tomorrow night anyway.

To play QB in a Leach offense you HAVE to be able to make your progressions. None of our QBs are very good at that right now. But they have arm talent and Leach is a damn good developer of QBs.

One also always has to look to the future. Here is the Mike Leach coaching tree.

Dana Holgerson WVU who has a Big East title and BCS bowl win over Dabo/Clemson under his belt.

Lincoln Riley Oklahoma who will likely land in the CFB playoff his first year. He's not a Stoops guy. He's a Leach guy who Stoops brought in to aid his offense. Worked out well for Baker Mayfield.

Neal Brown Troy - one of the new hot up and comers at Troy. Beat LSU this year.

Kliff Kingsbury Texas Tech is a former QB who was lights out as OC at Houston and at A&M when JM won the Heisman and they went 11-2.

Josh Heupel the OC at Missouri, who is lighting it up once they fully unleashed the passing game this year.

Sonny Cumbie who is the OC for Gary Patterson at TCU.

Graham Harrell is the OC at North Texas.

Not a bad tree, shows he can develop coaches and hopefully if we land him he develops his replacement.

They might be if they ever get coached up.

If Leach comes... I'll be jacked up

The Vols have not had a real football coach in a long time +... he's crazy :)
