If Riley Leaves Ok

Lol. So OU is go from a perennial playoff coach who has produced multiple Heisman winning QBs to Josh Heupel? Come on. I like Heupel but OU can do much better.
Got some names they could land? Their last two HC’s had no HC experience pre-hire.

What does CJH do? I think he sees he's building something and the amount of money the unveristy is pouring in if he stays. As I said before and ate my crow I want him to stay. We have something special working here let's keep it going, We will see and it might take 3 years but our program will be leaps and bonds better than it is now. Recruiting will be a key but also the portal and JUCO is also a way to go but recruiting is your life blood even if they can't come in and help out in short term but long term is where we are aiming.
If my aunt had a pair of balls she’d be my uncle.

OK Sooners Scapegoated him and you never forget that. He thinks like a coach now, and not a player. We think like fans. We believe coaching your alma mater is the top of the mountain of coaching. CJH might not feel that way now. I suspect he feels like he is weaving himself into the foundations of UT football lore. He was an outsider and now he is not.
Let us not jump to conclusions.
I think Heupel is very content and enjoying his position very much.
Agreed

Would it be a “new football coach” situation if a coach that’s currently recruiting him simply switches locales? Only hangup I would envision is Lebby taking over at Ole Miss…which would be said “new football coach”. Oregeron wouldn’t be a factor since he gone. Remember this is two classes down the road. Errything is fluid.
Yeah, it's a new coach situation unless the coach brings his players with him.

The current LSU players would be trying to adjust to a new system, new plays, etc. The coach would be learning the personalities and skills of the players and such. There's a difference between recruiting a player and actually having coached them.

If his attitude is as rumored, I hope Heupel stays far away. We've got a good thing starting here. There's no reason at all to take a chance on a guy who might be a problem in the locker room. We don't need to take chances. Get good quality kids who are about team instead of me unlike a certain RB who's rumored to be shutting it down for the draft.

His 2022 class is shaping up ok and if Klubnik lives up to his ranking they’ll be just fine.
His recruiting classes have BEEN stellar for years and his results were also until....... they were not this year.

They're pathetic especially given the schedule Clemson plays except GA. If you just look at recruiting, Clemson is a top 10 team easily this year. There's pretty obviously something wrong when you're as bad as Dabo is this year given his recent recruiting classes.

If "he'll be fine" will be true next year, why isn't it true this year?

How is he a NEW COACH if he’s been coaching in the SEC West for 3 seasons? How long did it take for them to “adjust” to whatever Joe Brady did in ONE SEASON? How long did it take for Matt Corral to respond to Kiffin’s teachings? And how would that be any different for Arch? If he can coach, whatever players he has are “his players”. He would be in his second season at LSU if Arch signed up, so personalities and skills would be well noted. If Kiffin stays at Ole Miss it’s because of comfort level. Not some fear of losing a theoretical 50/50 shot at one player.

Sure. Coaches are plug and play usually. You win.

Heupel is from South Dakota and transferred to Oklahoma his senior year. He won them a Natty and then got screwed by Stoops so I'm not too concerned as long as White is here.

I would pump the brakes on giving extensions and raises just yet. I hope he succeeds but it wasn’t that long ago we were glowing about cornbreads 8 win streak right before he tracked dog **** all over the carpet.
