It's never easy to follow a legend and he was groomed to be the heir apparent since the get go with his time at JP sports. He was the most logical choice at the time and IMO he has done a good job. Strictly for the detractors, who would you have rather had at the time of replacing Ward? And who would you rather have now?

I think Bob is a fine announcer, but I also agree it seems like he just goes through the motion. You never sense any passion or emotion. Now that’s probably just because he’s trying to be clear on radio, but I’d like a guy who delivers that punch.
