If Kippy is hired do the recruits leave?

Don't think so. He is a likeable guy and a father figure. Wants to see kids succeed both on and off the field.

It's very hard to say. There are some hires out there that would keep recruits more than Kippy, but I find myself pulled back to the idea more and more....I think it is because I am just reeling at the moment (I shouldn't be, but whatever).

Has he built any relationship with the recruits? I know hes been on the road and stuff since hes been here.

Any coach we hire is going to lose some of our recruits, and probably gain a few as well.

Yes, time is the problem. Hammy needs to target the guy and pull the trigger fast. Kiffin you little turd!

I personally think that Ambles is huge, but he isn't the reason to hire Kippy. I think that he showed that when he told Lane no and stayed at TN and demonstrated his cool head and leadership at his press conference. He may not work out, but at this point, I think he is a pretty good choice.

Kippy is more like Fulmer in his manner and probably his recruiting strategy. He would pitch the school and his love for it. The problem is that the guys we have on the hook were more drawn by Kiffin's flash and promises of NFL futures than the more Fulmer-like promises of Mark Richt and Urban Meyer. The guys who respond to that stuff probably weren't the guys we were in on. I have no doubt he is a good coach and he impressed me immensely today, but the combination of bravado, competence, and recruiting tricks the former staff had in its bag is not something we can or even should hope to match.

I'm really torn in regard to Kippy. He's a big question mark at this point...and if he's a question mark for a diehard fan....how much more for a recruit with no such loyalty to UT?

We can't base this hire on this year's class alone. MH has to decide who he wants to lead this program into the years to come. That may or may not be Kippy Brown. Hiring Gruden would be a huge splash, but he would more than likely be a huge failure as a college HC (for example).
