On paper Tennessee has some very good coaches......makes me wonder what is going on.

Is there a control problem.....I don’t know, maybe their isn’t. However some of them “had” been some top notch coaches....and now it looks like they can’t even develop.....at one point Weinke was thought of as one of the best QB coaches in the game (and you have Tee) You look at Tennessee’s situation and you have to wonder.....what is going on.

I have a feeling that Chaney, Weinke, and Tee have different philosophies that don't work well together. With Chaney being the OC, and Tee being labeled the "passing game coordinator", you've got Weinke stuck between them and their competing philosophies, and nothing is getting accomplished when it comes to actually taking any of the QBs to the next level.

That's why even if you are a "defensive minded" HC like Pruitt wants to be, you can't just wash your hands of the offense entirely.

I would bet that JG transfers to another school next season. The question will be what kind of opportunities that will be available to him.

The Miami QB King sorta reminds me of JG.

You mean 8-4 ceiling and fans sings his praises against average teams that he's cold blooded.

Having seen Pruitt pull Maurer and Shrout out of games for any mistake, or even almost mistake, while leaving JG in games after numerous mistakes, I believe he controls which qb plays. Worse, he has no respect for the qb position, he basically wants the qb to stay out of his way, while his Defense wins the game. He does not trust the Offense to win the game.

He apparently gives first team reps only to JG. So, unlike great Offensive Coaches such as Mullen and others who get all their backups ready to play with the Ones on Offense, he does not prepare any other qb to play. This continues through all preseason practices into during season practices. We have a defensive coordinator in charge of Offense.

He appears to have attached his pride and therefore stubbornness (along with his ignorance on the Offense), to his qb choice. He, as most of us, hates to be told what to do, so he refuses to change, or delegate the running of the Offense, including qb competition and development, to those who have decades of experience on the Offensive side of football.

So, recruiting going well? That’s not enough. He is not mature, he sounds like he has had no formal education. These things we could accept, if he wins, but he will not win against better teams with his ignorant approach to football Offense.

If you were a very good qb recruit, would you want to play for Pruitt? The quarterback will always be the most important player on the team. By his actions, I don’t believe Pruitt believes this. I do not believe he will change, he is a defensive coordinator.

I highly doubt we would allow JG to return nor would I think he would want to.

The buck stops with the head coach.
He should know the pulse of everything.
If there’s a problem, he should take care of it before it festers........

I can't take anymore JG time. It was never personal, but now I hate seeing his face and the confidence sucking expression he wears on it during the game. It is beyond time for something new, anything.

If there was ever a season to mix things up and (Jesus take the wheel) try something new, this is it. Pruitt needs to make some changes. Chaney needs to stop being as predictable as my post-morning coffee bowel movement.
