If it's Kippy...

Funny, Chris Hatcher's niece's best friend was telling me Hatcher was already renting a U-haul and was going to rent out Gruden's land in Sevier County until he finds a place of his own.

haha nice... Sad thing is the same rumors will come up next year if we start off 1-2. I also am curious if kippy gets the job, would he be the oc/wr coach and somebody else coach quarterbacks??

Yeah, most likely. He has coached RB's before, too though.

While I desired to have new blood in the offense to shake things up.... (didn't Fulmer say he was looking to do that?), Kippy Brown is an excellent coach with lots of college and NFL experience to draw on. He is largely the reason we were known as Wide Receiver U.

I am VERY concerned that Kippy has 1 year as an OC out of a 30 year coaching career. He has not recruited in a long time. He has his NFL pension locked up (only concerns me insofar as the hunger level affects job performance) and he supposedly said he wants to "retire" back to East Tennessee. Coming to be the OC at UTK should not be viewed as a retirement package for journeymen position coaches from the NFL. In the NFL assistants get to take lots of time off once the season ends. At this point in his life is he going to pound the pavement 6-7 days a week in the off season to re-establish recruiting connections and get kids committed to the Vols? UTK needs a successful, experienced OC and someone who will get out on the recruiting trail and get the job done. Kippy may be just fine for the job but I have too many reservations at this point to consider him anywhere near the best candidate for the job.

Good points and probably the reason it won't be kippy. I like the youth movement idea myself. Bring someone in young to get everyone's blood pumping. Kippy has connections but does he have the energy, i'd say that's a fair question.
