If it is Sunseri

If you think this is a great hire for DC, then I don't know what to tell you.

Now, if he came here as DL or LB coach, that'd be different.

Exactly. If any other team in the SEC makes this their DC hire, fans on this board are waxing poetic about how unimpressed they are.

Sunseri has only been at Bama since 2009. He's a northeast guy, from Pennsylvania. Just because he's been coaching LB's at Bama for a couple years doesn't make him a "bama guy".

Don't put words in my mouth, my post plainly says "bama coaches" what part of that didn't you understand?

That's the strongest logic for Thompson, imo. He already knows the players and staff and has a better chance of implementing within the time frame that matters most for CDD at UT.

Excellent point, Dooley doesn't have time for someone to learn. He needs an experienced DC ready to hit the ground running.

I would like to know if their forums are giving any indication that he is leaving Bama for Tennessee. I could care less what they think of us hiring Sunseri.

At this point, my Bama fans are not to worried about Tennessee when it comes to Sunseri. I do believe Sunseri interviewing with Tennessee (Saban encourages all his coaches to interview) is nothing more than a ploy to get a raise from Bama. He had a HC job at Pittsburgh waiting for him if he wanted, but chose to stay at Bama to coach his son, Vinnie.

Now unless Tennessee does something stupid and grossly overpay for Sunseri, I don't see Sunseri leaving Bama before his son graduates, with the chance he leaves with Vinnie is a jr. ATP, Sunseri interviewing with Tennessee is nothing more than white noise to me.
