Did you not get your way growing up, play games where they didn't keep score etc....?

This is about commitment, honor and competition.
Stick to your commitment and play your 4 yrs at the school, coaches and players. TEAM!
Honor that your commitment/contract!
Compete for the starting position or playing time. That's how TEAMS get better!

I love coach Pruitt however, I don't get the JG over Shrout at all! Does JG's uniform fit better or something? WTH are my eyes missing when I watch every single snap?

And get redshirted behind two or three other QBs and not see the field for two seasons? This is myopic. They have both gotten to play and will both play more...as true freshmen in the SEC. Maurer starts at KY IF fully healthy is my guess. I would’ve liked to see more of Shrout last night, but it was fine that JG got the bulk of snaps in the process of smoking the spread.

How is that proof? JG was the higher rated QB against South Carolina..... JT throws a beautiful deep ball but it is those other throws that makes our staff question him.... he threw a very high amount of ints in high school and continues to make questionable decisions.... I don’t think JG is much better but it’s obvious the staff trusts him more.

JG isn’t the clear cut starter anymore. He’s more effective in relief but Shrout is still plays like the better QB of the two. Given the nature of the schedule, you play your backup all game if you can. JG’s hand was injured but if he can go you send him out there. Shrout can rest. He’ll be needed the rest of the schedule. That plan just makes sense to me.

Do you watch UT football? Last year we beat KY and Chryst played almost the entire game against Missouri. If you want to put the Vandy loss on JG you can but it really was a team loss. If you want to critique JG go for it but at least get your facts straight.

The only thing wrong with your argument is this, Guarantano has not hit a wr in stride on a deep ball his entire career at Tennessee. He’s hit some back shoulder throws and has had some under throws caught but he has never completed one in which his receiver didn’t break stride and was able to run after the catch for a td. Funny that in the limited time we have seen Shrout and Maurer in action they have both completed throws for scores on bombs that the receiver caught in stride and were able to score on. Guarantano is a 1/2 second slow on every read he makes and his deep balls are a perfect example of this.

The starter of this thread is a idiot, Shrout and Maurer have plenty of playing time ahead. By Pruitt's words on his show this morning I expect Maurer to start next week. I think he played JG mostly to build up his confidence because of the possibility that he will be needed down the stretch. I thought Shrout should have played a little more than he did, but he is the coach and there everyday. I think while Shrout may throw the prettiest ball of them all when he can set and throw, I think he thinks JG is still pretty close in ability with Shrout. I do think he thinks Maurer gives them a chance to be another level on offense. Also I think he may have thought we have this game in hand and I don't want to get Shrout hurt and just stuck with JG feeling he needed the confidence boost. Hard to be to mad when we won and the team overall played well and the D played very good. I am all about winning.GBO!!!!!

Do you really think Pruitt won't put Maurer or Shrout in in those situations if we are struggling. I expect Maurer to start next Saturday. GBO!

Yes if we are throwing a bomb they would probably choose Shrout over any of our QBs.... it is the rest of running an offense that concerns them about Shrout.
