If Heupel loses to Florida

If you can’t have a reasonable expectation to win this year, you can’t ever. This is it. The time is now. It matters.

Heupel isn’t going anywhere regardless. But, don’t believe that there won’t be some effect.

If Heupel loses to Florida at Neyland this season, whether by blowout or by last second TD toss by Richardson, how much support will Heupel lose from the fanbase?
today tennessee plays ball st and I am excited to see the game and just get back to watcing college football. Why in the world are asking this silly question about a game 4 weeks from now?

the biggest problem with our fanbase... expectations and patience

If Heupel wins one more game than last year even though we think we could go 10-2 that's still a step in the right direction right?
What if we beat Florida bad and even give GA or Bama a run but then get beat by KY or Vandy... some fans would be calling for a new coach

what we want and what is reality is usually very different... let's just hope we are getting better and playing hard every game for 4 quarters and see what happens

It would be disheartening, but I don't base everything off of one game. However, depending on how he handles in-game situations, it could start to build a case against him. I honestly feel like, for the first time in a long time, we're legitimately better than Florida though.
With all due respect, we have been better than Florida several years during this run. There is a curse afoot I tell you. A legitimate curse.

You cite Arkansas as a team that has turned it around quickly, and yet they went 8-4 in Year 2, and that would be a disappointment to you for UT. Some of you guys always get your expectations cart before the horse. We got 2 games we probably lose, 5 we probably win and 5 that could reasonably go either way to neutral outside observers (Florida, LSU, Pitt, Kentucky and South Carolina). Y'all gone be disappointed if we go 3-2 against that group and match our best regular season record in 15 years in Year 2. SMH. Can we beat Florida? Sure. Am I gone sour on Heupel if we lose and win 8 games? Hell no.
Arkansas was also coming off of 4-8, 2-10, and 2-10 seasons before Pittman got there

I feel like that's been debatable other than 2 or 3 years. ('15, '16, '06) But I think it's very clear right now.

And they went 3-7 Pittman's first year. We were coming off 5-7, 8-5 and 3-7 seasons when Heupel got here, plus an NCAA investigation and like 35 outgoing transfers, including most of our highest ranked players.

Losing to Florida will sting, mostly because we all left them for dead after their miserable second half of the season last year. I am not sure beating Utah (no matter how high they are ranked) strikes fear into me but it does bring me back down a notch or two. I mean lets be honest, they beat us when we have the better team 9 out of 10 times usually. I think if we beat Pitt and LSU and lose to bama and UGA he will be fine if he loses to UF. No one will be happy about it and I do believe a blow out loss to UF hurts him much more than a close loss. Right now I just want to beat Pit then we can worry about UF.

Heupel loss to Gators = zero chance

Heupel loss to Gators and says “we’re gonna work like heck” = 99.9% chance
