If gruden says no I want

Been reading the boards for quite a while now. Not much of a talker. Could someone please explain the Gruden fanwagon? I know he won a super bowl years ago but as I remember, he wasn't that great any other years plus he hasn't coached in umpteen years and never college. I would much rather see someone like Dana Holgerson. He is in possibly the worst state in the country to recruit to but always manages to be competitive. Imagine what he could do with UT's resources and recruiting areas. His players actually play for him too. Just a thought....

It can be compared to Sasquatch. 98% of the "fanwagon" have a blast with it in a lighthearted way. The other 2% ACTUALLY THINK that it's real and parrot the information as if they know he's almost came here once and is on the verge again.

Think Sasquatch, Loch Ness Monster, Mermaids, Rod Wilks, Paul Bain, and the Partridge Family Cult. Then it will start making some more sense.

Fuente isn't coming...already said he likes the low crime rate and the schools in VA for his kids.

People ripped Butch for losing to Dooley, and now we want somebody that couldn't beat Butch?

That honestly the only thing I'm having trouble getting over. But the talent disparity in that game was astounding. I remember reading that prior to the game vatech only had one 4* player in their team and he ended up blowing his all a couple of weeks before we played. Simply put, it was like vandy playing bama from a talent comparison. And they actually were winning early in the game

Turnovers are part of the game. Butch out coached Fuente and beat him straight up last year.

This is so ****ing stupid.

Butch Jones has also beaten Mark Dantonio, James Franklin, David Cutcliffe, Frank Solich, Greg Schiano, Paul Chryst, Frank Beamer, Bobby Petrino, Steve Spurrier, Kirk Ferentz, Pat Fitzgerald, Gary Pinkel, Paul Johnson, Kirby Smart, and Mark Richt. Are they all terrible coaches too?

Every great coach has lost to a terrible coach at some point in their lives. Almost every great coach has done so very, very recently.

I promise you VT has more than one 4* on their roster and did when we played them.

Wow!! When you put it that way, maybe we should keep CBJ. How could he have beaten that entire list of "great coaches" if he is the worst coach in the history of football like some posters seem to think..

I also want Gruden to publicly say it. Don't let this firestorm of Grude mania hit us again!!!

I wish to hell somebody would engrave his 'no' in stone and put it up on the campus. This delusion is making Tennessee look as silly as the mattress burnings after Kiffen booked for the coast.

Exactly. I'm also astounded at how many seem to jump on a band wagon for a coach who pulls an upset. Games like that...both ways...happen, but that doesn't make the coach a failure or the next Saban. It's college football.

There is no Grudenmania except for rubes buying it now or former rubes that bought it five years ago. It's unicorns and dancing lollipops around your bed at night, pure fiction.

This all day and night. Quit dreaming

neither of those coaches will be here. who is your third choice?

Scott Frost probably after that i really don’t know. Blake Anderson I’d have to do research on and Dino babers. I’d be ok with dan Mullen. Norvell is a wildcard don’t know much about him

I would actually be on board with pulling Dan Mullen over to the East. Look at what he has done for Miss ST. In a division as tough as the West. Imagine what he could do, in the East, with the talent he could pull to TN.
