if Fulmer does replace Hamilton

We just sold out FL comming off our worst home loss and we have questionable HC and AD right now. That tells ya its about the program not whose name is on the AD door. The AD could be anyone and we'd make money.

Think Doug Dickey. Except far, far worse.

He'd pretty much prioritize football, and leave everyone else to fend for themselves.

I couldn't ever not support UT athletics if they did something like that. I mean, I don't really donate anything to them or anything like that. But I definitely wouldn't watch much UT sporting events if that were to happen.

Although I do not support Fulmer as AD...the thought of prioritizing football works for me...we are a football school if folks remember correctly.

It's not the prioritizing football that gets me. It's the fact that every other sport at UT would be placed wayyyyy back on the priorities list.

Dooley should be the AD.

Fulmer should simply go away or perhaps get a job somewhere else. It looks as though we may never be rid of the man.

lets keep irrational and childish jokes aside

seriously, thoughts on how this might would affect Tennessee athletics.

a) are we royally screwed?

b) is there a chance he might do ok?
(assuming he doesn't take a micromanage approach to the football team)

Personally IDK if he's really qualified
and despite his lack of success in the later part of his coaching career I don't think anyone can doubt his loyalty and love for all things Tennessee.

still purely hypothetical but I'd like to hear your reactions without all the dramatic, passionate, blind hate.

stop for a min, and think....what if this does happen....

Sprinkling fairy dust is not the proper way to correct the Vols problem, would be an epic mistake!!!

I could see Fulmer (as AD) firing CDD in mid-season year 3 and naming himself as interim coach on a permanent basis. If Fulmer becomes AD, I will resign my lifetime membership as a Vol and give back my Biology degree to the school.

Why? Until recently, basketball has been about the only thing to get excited about.
Although I have enjoyed the success the basketball program has had, we are still a FOOTBALL school, we always have and always will be.
I would support our basketball program tanking if it ment our football program became relavent again.

There's no reason a school can't have success at both sports....Look at Florida, Ohio State, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Pitt....UGA basketball will be top 25 this year IMO and Coach Fox will only continue to make them better.

Can we hold out for Peyton to retire? He actually has the brains and the love for the school. Or how about Al Wilson? I think Big Al is as qualified as the Great Pumpkin

So we need to be sure we are rational when talking about something that is never going to happen? Never. To keep bringing it up is irrational.

By the way, I hear Peyton Manning is interested in the head coaching job at UT in the very near future. And, black jerseys are going to become the normal game day uniform.

Fulmer would be a great fit as AD. I am all for it. He loves the UT and would bust his butt for the school. He would be great at fund raising just like he was as head coach. I believe that Fulmer and the entire coaching staff became complacent in his later years. He would embrace UT traditions. I also believe that he would not hinder Coach Dooley at all. Fulmer was 152-52 won 2 sec championships, 1 National championship and played for, I believe, 3 more Sec championships in 17 years. That is an excellent record for a coach in the sec. Fire Hamilton and Hire Fulmer.

While I think hiring Fulmer as AD would be disastrous, I can't process in my brain the thought of not being a UT fan.

I agree ... particularly with the "Fire Hamilton" part.
