I would except him. Not like it but he didn't ask to be caught up in this Cluster F*** of an AD. Can't blame him for taking it if he does, until the HOH and Currie are gone we are going to be in a mess

The Tennessee Smokies will get much more of money because UT will get none if they hire this mediocre pile of mothing.

This is literally the only real living breathing coach that is as bad of an idea as Schiano so far. We would have been better off keeping Butch or Dooley than this guy. He gives me absolutely no faith, and I usually will at least give a guy the benefit of the doubt.

...be rooting from the house. More interested in reloading munitions than football most likely after 2 losing efforts to start the season.

My son got band and academic scholarships to William Carey Univ in Hattiesburg, MS and plans to get his BS in English Ed there, then transfer to UT for his M.Ed in Literature. He eventually wants to attain his PhD and teach Lit on the college level somewhere in TN.

So, if Currie hires a coach from CoachMart's bargain rack, I will probably cheer on William Carey's # 1 in the nation ranked men's soccer team (NAIA) as they do not have a football team... but they hope to have one within the next 3 to 4 years. The Spirit of Carey Band is relatively small compared to the Pride of the Southland, but they are great for their size!

As always... Go Vols... HIRE A GREAT COACH - NOT ANOTHER DUD ! ! !

This is clearly a consolation prize hire if you ask me. Don't let him sign for more than 4 years/$4million.

Welp, NCST has been very competitive in games that they were an underdog in this season. But it will probably take a little blue pill and/or a complete arse whippin of WV and Floriduh before I get Chubby on this hire.

I sure hope he recruits well.

I'd much rather give Jeff Brohm some serious coin instead...say $7-8 million Sacagaweas!

Witch Doctor swear, I dont think this is overreacting , I swear, Im done for a while, untill something changes, this is horrible.(I will still watch the BB team and Womens team (sometimes) Im not going to watch this train wreck when we all know it was going to be one. Currie this kills recruiting, no one will want to come for a KNOWN 3rd stringer. This is kicking the can down the road.

I had never been to a UT game before the 80s. Majors made me want to come see a game. After that I got hooked, then got married, had kids and we'd go to at least one or more every year from there on out. This year we passed up a chance to go to the LSU game this year, for free with a business buddy's family because we knew it would suck. If this guy gets hired, we're back to pre-Majors so we'll come back when we get excited about coming to a game again.

That simple.

I promise you that covers a huge percentage of the fanbase.

Call Kiffin... He excites a fan-base. He's arrogant. He's rude... even disrespectful at times BUT he can fire up VolNation like nobody's bizness.

Time for Currie to go back to Wake Forest and bring a real Vol into the AD job. Phil Fulmer is the man for the job.
Wonder if he could talk Peyton into coaching? Just imagine what awesome recruiting :dance2: UT would be an power house contender for the SEC championship every freaking year. IF ONLY.

Peyton is a large part of the problem.

...personally, I will finally understand how the casual fan feels being able to watch football on Saturday without giving a damn about a particular team. Frankly, I cannot take much more of this BS.

Sit at home on fall Saturdays and watch reruns of Bevis and Butthead until my brains leak out my ears and I'm put out of this misery.

We have current and future players on our team who are in limbo right now and need to know that their fans are behind them. The Schiano hire was monumentally stupid and caused a chain reaction of epic proportions that caused three more coaches to turn us down. If Coach Doeren is hired, I’ll get behind him and the players. I’m a Vol Fan. Can’t be anything else.
