If Crompton starts against UGA

I hope this entire QB situation will weed out all the fairweathered, hillbilly, dumb**** fans who expect change overnight. The university does not need fans like them. These same fools will suddenly be all over Lane when he starts winning. Otherwise keep calling him Lame, Kitten, he cant coach, he doesn't know what he is doing, etc...they are not listening and you do not matter.

IMO, the recievers didn't catch the balls because they are not use to getting the ball thrown to them, they are use to having to jump and reach all out for a chance to catch the ball, which most of the time is not possible anyways, second, kiffin might be keeping crompton in just so we can get an even better qb recruit next year. just my thoughts

I think could be possible in highschool, but if your a WR playing D1 ball you should be making plays on the field. Some of the passes being dropped are easy passes than most any WR should be able to catch. I dont blame the WR for all the overthrown/underthrown balls though. I am talking more about the passes that hit them in the hands. If Crompton actually hits anyone in the hands, they should catch it

So (supposedly) not seeing catchable balls makes them so unaware that when they actually DO see one they are shocked and do not know how to catch? Really?? And you should keep your thoughts....

I heard something on 102.3 The Talk Monster on Sunday that Tennessee could be playing this way for recruiting strategies, saying that they dont want Stephens to go out there and tear it up (who knows) and maybe turning QBS away since they ont start next season...... I doubt a coach would go purposely his first year on a losing season just for recruiting. I think its bogus, IMO I think crompton is the best we have. If he could play from now on like he did in the last two drives of the game, we can make a bowl game. I just dont see UT making on this year unless we can beat UGA or SC or Miss. I just hope!

Is that a public access radio station? I certainly hope the dudes weren't getting paid for that kind of thought.

Just when you think you've seen or heard all the idiots...

I agree with you that BJ quit, and I definitely don't agree with the way he left (very childish). However, BJ was right that he would not get a fair shake at the starting job. I didn't believe him at the time but am coming around.

In my totally honest opinion, if BJ had stayed he WOULD have gotten a legitimate shot. I'm about 60% that he'd be the starter.

I believe we go 5-7 this year as long as Crompton is the QB. 6-6 is really pushing it. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think so. The WR's are already becoming frustrated you can see it. He needs to be replaced.

This really puzzels me....Crompton has now been the starter for two years under two different coaches who basically said the same thing, "he earned being the starter based on practice". And Crompton has also played about the same no matter who the coach is.

When does what happens on gameday have more weight than what happens during practice?

The only way Stephens gets on the field is JC gets hurt. JC can have 3 INTs and be 5 of 25 and there won't be a change. By the way JC is rated 89th out of 114 in the NCAA QB ratings.

I will not watch the game. The fans deserve a QB change. Kiffin is being stubborn beyond belief. I have never witnessed a QB play so bad and not get benched. I am speechless. We are literally forfeiting our season. At this point who cares if Crompton never gets his confidence back????? We need a change.

I guess you haven't seen the Raiders qb play lately.

Opponents..........

Glenville State - NAIA
Furman - 1-AA
@ Presbyterian 1-AA
Wofford - 1-AA

You're really going to argue Crompton's stats vs. Division 1-A talent vs. Coleman's stats against 1-AA and NAIA opponents? The one opponent that we did play that was around the talent level of 1-AA, Crompton played wonderfully.

You may be the very definition of the fair weather fan. If you don't want to watch, don't watch and if you need a change, you should go root for the gators or the bammers, they're having great years. Just don't come back. You and UT's fake ass #1 fan ought to get along pretty well.

Coleman quit. Get over it. He wasn't run off. He simply wasn't tough enough or courageous enough to actually compete for and win the job. When the going got tough... BJ got going to UTC.

Crompton may never be a QB but he's dealt with adversity like a man... instead of a little girl that ran home in tears when someone said mean things to them.

Seriously how can we not give this guy a shot. Just watch the highlights.

I agree, Crompton isn't getting it done, for whatever reason. Stephens might not be any better, although I think he will, but he sure can't be any worse, and he will at least be back next year. Continuing to start Crompton who performs poorly in big games, makes absolutely now sense. I don't get it. To me, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by going with Stephens.

I don't know what the Medical RS rules are but Oklavol suggested that UT might be trying to get NS an extra year of eligibility due to his broken arm. If true, that means JC is really and truly all they have unless they're willing to run Nick Lamaison out there.

Just curious here, is there any conceivable way that Stephens plays short of a Crompton injury or suspension (unlikely)? I mean, if Crompton throws 4 picks in his first four throws, would he be benched, or would Kiffin just call run plays repeatedly? And then after the game say that he didn't put Crompton in the right position to make a play and vow to fix that before Bama.

Enjoy that.

UGA has no offense and their D is mediocre. Even with Crompton, UT beats Georgia--mark it down! UT 27 UGA 17

I like this. Just what the Doctor ordered for UT's O and for Crompton - Big Willie's D.

Saturday, UT's season begins to turn toward a bowl game.
